Why do I let petty things bother me so much. I have a problem with worrying. Is this something that is genetic or overtime has it just manafested itself into an unstoppable monster? Thanks

u dont need professional help, what u need is to understand tht ppl dnt have much respect for the things u do. ur saying ''petty" but if they really were petty then it wouldnt affect u much they just seem petty to others. to worry about something shows concern and thats healthy but if u are constantly worried about things tht u can not or will never be able to change thts a problem that can be solved by just coming to terms tht it is out of your hands...youre absolutely fine u just think more than most

Probably a little of both. You could have an axiety disorder, and should consider seeking professional help. Two of my close friends are affected by anxiety disorders and without treatment it can seem completely unbearable. If you get help though, you might find yourself moving past these things.
I hope you get to feeling better, and good luck with everything.

Yeah, it sounds like an anxiety disorder. But there are different kinds, and of course different degrees. Maybe this link would give you more information?: http://www.mercyhealthnwa.smhs.com/healthinfo/pediatric/mentalhealth/anxhub.asp
Then definitely see a professional. I know having an anxiety condition sucks- it's exhausting and can really take a toll on your life. Better to start dealing with it in a timely manner, than let it grow to the point that it's taking over your life. Trust me on this one! :)

Just relax. You just need to realize that you cannot control other people or what they do.... and that is what a therapist would tell you. Worry about yourself and finding peace within you, and then you will stop worrying so much. Find other things to occupy yourself. And while you will always worry about somethings, only you control how much it affects you. Good luck.

When you are worrying about something,
!STOP ,THINK, TALK TO YOURSELF, ALOUD IF NECESSARY,
think of the outcome of the situation and think what would be the result if the worst comes to the worst. it is not that bad anyway.
you will realize that everything has a solution not worth going crazy for (you willl not go crazy anyway, even if you think you may) and that you are creating a bigger problem by worrying than what the actual situation would result anyway.
the worst thing that can happen in life is to die. and it is going to happen anyway.

I doubt if I should be the one answering this, since I'm going through hell myself, but you may want to talk to a counselor to see if there may be something wrong or if this is normal. Believe me, you don't want it to get a lot worse. Hopefully, you can find places that counsel that will charge a sliding fee or will do it for free. If there is a University in your area, you can also talk to them to see if they do counseling for free. I hope this helps...

It sounds like you worry to much about what people think of you. I use to let everything get to me and read way to much into everything. One day i just got fed up with everyone and everything and realized Ive got one life to live. Why waist it on worrying about everything and letting everything get to me. If your anything like me you probably have panic/anxiety attacks and your nerves are shot all of the time. You've got to get fed up with it. Its not really genetic. It can lead to other things like depression. You can go to the doctor and get medication to help you out with it if it gets to out of hand. I recommend you to just stop, clear your head, put everything on hold and just...breathe : )
I hope Ive helped.
