Pope 3:26 LOL!!!!

No seriously, it does not say any such thing in any location. Churches only do it because they like it - not because the Bible says it.

Actually it's not nowhere. Man changed it to Sunday as quoted in Daniel 7:25. Look at this!!!

Look what Jesus says in John 4:22-24.
John 4:22 = "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews."
Now Jews keep Saturday.
Jesus even kept it (Luke 4:16).
The Apostles kept it (Acts 13:44; 17:2)
It's in Hebrews 3:18-19; 4:1-11
Also the Sabbath is mentioned in Rev.14:7 which goes back to Exodus 20:8-11.

There's other evidence:
The Calendar tells us " the first day starting Sunday and the seventh day ending Saturday.
You also can look in dictionaries; it tells you that Sabbath is Saturday.
You also can look up Sabbath in: Encyclopaedia Americana, Vol.24, pp.68-69.

Texts that deal with the seventh day Sabbath:
Gen.2:1-3; Exod.20:8-11; Psalm 119:126; Mark 2:27-28; Luke 4:16; Heb.3:18-19; 4:1-11; 2Peter 2:21; Rev.14:7.

Evidence: (Catholics know when the seventh day is)
"1. Is Saturday the 7th day occording to the Bible & the 10 Commandments.
"I answer yes.
"2. Is Sunday the first day of the week & did the Church change the 7th day--Saturday---for Sunday, the 1st. day:
"I answer yes.
"3. Did Christ change the day
"I anser no! Faithfully yours,
"J. Card. Gibbons"
--Gibbon's Autograph letter.
"Ques.--Which is the Sabbath day?
"Ans.--Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Ques.--Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
"Ans.--We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."--Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p.50. Geiermann received the "apostolic blessing" of Pope Pius x on his labors, Jan.25,1910.
Bible Readings pg.194.

(Dan.7:25 tells us "he will think to change laws and times")

Sunday believe at midnight to midnight to start another day. While the Bible says "even to even" in Gen.1:5,8,13,19,23; Lev.23:32.

Excellent question! The short answer is nowhere. Even Christian literature from the Catholic church which used to boldly proclaim to have been given the authority to change the holiness and sanctity of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, Says that if Protestants where true to the idea of "Sola Scriptura" (Scripture alone) Than they would have to keep the 7th day Holy from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset according to The 4th commandment.
Daniel talks about a "little horn" power that seeks to change God's laws and times.
funny thing is that the only one of the commandments that tells us to "Remember" is the only one the Christian world has for the most part "Forgotten"

People assue the 7th day is Sunday not Sat

Genesis 2:2
By [Ex 20:8-11; 31:17] the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and [Heb 4:4, 10] He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

Exodus 20:10
but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it [Neh 13:16-19] you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.

Exodus 16:26

It doesn't. What it says is that after Jesus rose on the first day of the week, His followers started WORSHIPING together on the first day of the week. Nothing wrong with Saturday still being a day of rest. Not that there is anything wrong with church on Saturday either.
But that is where it comes from. The Sabbath was the 7th day because that's when God rested. Church meetings were on the 1st day to celebrate the resurrection.

absolutely no frikin where in scripture does it say that the sabbath was, should or must be changed to sunday. pope 23 or whatever is right, the catholic church changed it but thats a whole story in itself. people will throw NT scriptures to you with their different intepretations on it which all sound pretty good to any ear, but yo cant ignore the 4th commandment, just like the bible says it is not to be changed...why does man continue to try intepret things and cause more confusion i will never know...but the sabbath is there, OT or NT you cant change what GOD himself wrote for mankind, heck even Jesus in his death observed the holyness of sabbath, chossing to be resurrected on sunday. hope this helps...

Sunday is NOT the Sabbath!

For those who may think that Sunday is the seventh day, or sabbath day, that the Bible designates to be set aside for the worship of God. It is quite surprising how many people actually think this. They generally assume that since Saturday and Sunday are the "weekend", that Monday must be the first day of the week because it is their first work day of the week. This would then lead you to believe that Sunday is indeed the seventh day.

Reading the following papal encyclical, you may even think that Sunday is the Sabbath:

Making Sunday Holy

248. Allied to what We have said so far is the question of the Sunday rest.

249. To safeguard man's dignity as a creature of God endowed with a soul in the image and likeness of God, the Church has always demanded a diligent observance of the third Commandment: "Remember that thou keep holy the sabbath day." (52) God certainly has the right and power to command man to devote one day a week to his duty of worshipping the eternal Majesty. Free from mundane cares, he should lift up his mind to the things of heaven, and look into the depths of his conscience, to see how he stands with God in respect of those necessary and inviolable relationships which must exist between the creature and his Creator.

250. In addition, man has a right to rest a while from work, and indeed a need to do so if he is to renew his bodily strength and to refresh his spirit by suitable recreation. He has also to think of his family, the unity of which depends so much on frequent contact and the peaceful living together of all its members.

251. Thus, religion and moral and physical well-being are one in demanding this periodic rest, and for many centuries now the Church has set aside Sunday as a special day of rest for the faithful, on which they participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the memorial and application of Christ's redemptive work for souls.

252. Heavy in heart, We cannot but deplore the growing tendency in certain quarters to disregard this sacred law, if not to reject it outright. This attitude must inevitably impair the bodily and spiritual health of the workers, whose welfare We have so much at heart.

253. In the name of God, therefore, and for the sake of the material and spiritual interests of men, We call upon all, public authorities, employers and workers, to observe the precepts of God and His Church and to remember their grave responsibilities before God and society.

The Christian bible is about Christ (God in the flesh). God established His Church with Peter as the first Pope and gave all of His authority to His Church to teach in all matters of faith and morals after His ascension into Heaven and until Jesus returns on a cloud to judge the living and the dead. Then, not long after the ascension of Jesus into Heaven, that Church made the decision to make Sunday the most important holy day of worship because that is the day that Jesus rose from the dead to offer salvation to the world.

The Sabbath was never changed from Saturday. Sunday is known as the Lord's day, not the Sabbath. However, there is no longer a legalistic requirement to observe the Sabbath law since it was a ceremonial law that was pointing to the rest that we would find in Christ.

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

If you want to observe the Sabbath that's fine. If you don't that's fine too. Just be fully persuaded in your own mind. For as it is written:

Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

It doesn't. All the Torah says is that we should rest on the 7th day. For Jew, it is Saturday (Sabbath is the act of resting and honoring the Lord, not the name of a day).

T0 distinguish themselves from the Jewish populations, Christians decided to rest on Sunday< (In Hebrew, the first day)

Muslims have elected to rest on the fifth day (our Friday).

Which day is the Sabbath? Is it Saturday? On which day should a Christian worship? I believe it is Sunday. The Saturday Sabbath was given to Israel. Ezekiel 20:12,20 states: I gave them [Israel] my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD and also hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you [Israel]. This was the first covenant to Israel.

Christians have a new covenant. Jesus made a surety of a better testament (Hebrews 7:22). He [Christ] is the mediator of a better covenant (Hebrews 8:6). He [Christ] is the mediator of the new testament [or new agreement] (Hebrews 9:15).

Because of His death and this new agreement, we are no longer under ceremonial laws involving days. Moral laws are in effect in believer's hearts, but not the ceremonial laws. Proof? God says in Colossians 2:14,16 that Christ [blotted] out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.... Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy- day, or of the new moon, or [Get it!] of the sabbath days.

We are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14). God's moral law is written within and upon the hearts of believers, but ceremonial laws involving days have been nailed to the cross. We honor the Saviour of the new covenant on a new day -- the day of His resurrection, which is Sunday, the first day of the week. This we do out of love, not servitude, not through law, but through grace.
