I've been on Effexor before. The worst part is forgetting to take it. You start feeling really strange and I can't even describe. Its kinda like withdrawl symptoms. When I stopped it completely, I felt strange for 2 weeks but eventually to start to feel normal again.

In addition, when you are on effexor, you have no sex drive. I mean none whatsoever.

Its not an SSRI. It works on different neurotransmitters. More accurately its an SNRI.

Those are called "zaps I wish you'd reconsider going cold turkey. That's very dangerous. Can you cut your pills down a little, or break them in half?? I'm sorry to say this but your withdrawals could become worse as days progress. Consider shaving your pills a little bit, one week at a time. Drink A LOT of water, try to avoid sugar- you might crave sugar or bread, see if you can stand some mild exercise, take some fiber (Metamucil or something) because you might get some bowel trouble. It took me 9 months to wean myself off Paxil and it was the worst experience of my life (sorry). Since you've only been on Effexor for 2 months, it might not be as bad. I hope not. I agree with what Gurligeak said above. Even 18 months later I still don't feel right-- it's been a long road to recover.
