Personally I know a lot fo people who do it, and although I'd like to think it's safe for parents to put their pride and joys out there to say look, this is what I made isn't it the most beautiful human you have ever see???!!!??? It's not, )-:
I do not yet have any children, but I am a rpoud Aunt to 15 nieces and nephews and I also toild with this question as well, ntil my sister in law had a man writing her about her own childrens pictures on her myspace (those children my niece and nephew). He asked her very obscene questions (i.e. if she had broke them in yet, if they had been taught to love, honor, pleasure and obey their parents, and would they consider renting them out for photos in bathing suits, or sending him nude photos from their family collection), my sister was horrified, reported this man to myspace and his account was deleted. We thought all was well,...
Until a month went by and my sister recieved a letter in her snail mail box addressed to Rose (which was the fake name she gave her 12 year old daughter on myspace). She new something was up, and opened the weighty envelope to find pictures of an extremely older man from the waist down in various pornographis poses. My sister was scared, her name, as well as all of her childrens names were falsified and had no idea how he had found thier address, but it turns out with a little bit of internet know how, you get can get someones home address if you know their computer i.p address, and because he had corresponded with her via the internet, he had her i.p. address. My sister contacted the police, adn even handed over the letter he had written (which only said, Do you need another Grandpa? I can't afford to buy you a pony but I haev something you can ride.), to no avail. They had a postmark, but only from that town and seeing as his accoutn was deleted and he never showed his face in the pics, there was nothing they could do.
Needless to say my sister deleted her myspace account and has since moved, but for the 7 months they remained in that house, they were terrified with every knock at the door.
Sorry to tell you a horror story, but I know I love my nieces and nephews and I know how upset I was, I am positive that your a very loving warm parent, just seeing as you took the time to ask this, so please it's not worth it. Your children are very loving to have a parent as responsible and gaurding (not to mention loving and forethought) as you, I'm just so proud of parents like you who think of their children first in this world where everyone is so self absorbed usually, ya know.
best of Luck to you and your family in all you do and conquer,...
Hope I helped, Dora

Well it depends. How comforable do you feel putting them up there? Many a friend and family have their children on there. As long as there isn't anything really identifying (you can read myspace about their opionin on the matter) (1st link) then I think it would be ok. You can probably put in a tracker into your myspace account to make sure no wierdos are looking at your profile.(2nd link) it actually works. I use it on my own myspace account

Not a chance! The site is dangerous and you should not even allow your children to type on it!
Give them explicit directions: No Myspace at all or your computer priveledges will be revoked!

No. It is dangerous to put your picture and especially the picture of your kids on myspace because you'd never know who can view your pictures.

In my opinion it's safe as long as you leave it private for example keeping the state and city you live in hidden to prevent anyone from doing certain things to you or the kids.

If you make sure your account is set so that only your "friends" can view your pictures it would be okay. But, if you have people in your "friends" that you don't actually know in person, I would not post any pictures of her. You can never be too careful! There are lots of crazy, sick people out there.

No, it's not safe.
Strangers or people you know can edit the pictures and use them against you. Don't even post pictures of yourself on the internet, because it is a deally unsafe decision.

Perv's love that website because it gives them SOOO much amunition they can research their next victim! It practically does their job for them! So, the question is, do you love your daughter, or are you gonna make her a sex offender's next possible victim?????

I don't think you should put pictures of your children on any web sight unless you are sending them to family or friends.

I think it's safe, but I wouldn't even have your hometown on there. You never know what weirdo is watching. Good luck.
