You are wise not to trust online translators, and I wish people on Yahoo! answers would quit using them as sources.
Spanish doesn't have a single word for "borrow", so what you must ask is literally, "Could you please lend me your.____?"
If you are addressing someone in the familiar:
¿Me puedes prestar tu ____ , por favor?
In the formal:
¿Me puede prestar su ____, por favor?

- tu is use when your talking to someone around your age.
- su is use when talking to someone older than you, is the polite way to ask if you're talking to elder people.
