I think they say it's a mystery, that we are incapable of understanding.
I say it's a flat out contradiction.
They'd probably have some weaselly answer for your last question.

Okay so The Trinity is made up of God the Father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Son (Jesus Christ). and I think where it gets confusing is that these three elements unite to form one God. So each aspect of the Trinity is God in a different form.
The one thing you have to understand is that not all Christian groups believe in the Trinity. Protestants for example do.
But you have other group who do believe that God is only present in one form, and Jesus Christ is not God. So if you talk to a person who doesn't believe in the Trinity, chances are they won't be able to explain the concept because they haven't been taught what the Trinity is all about.

It's hard to understand and grasp the fact that Christians believe that 'GOD' is actually 3 entities in 1. Namely: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
It still has me scratching my head.
I'm what a lot of people call 'a fallen Catholic'.
I gave up trying to understand the whole thing many years ago.

i am a christian but i don't believe in the trinity because it is not a bible teaching , the ancient israelites had no concept of a triune god and neither did the first century christians.
The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology states: “The N[ew] T[estament] does not contain the developed doctrine of the Trinity. ‘The Bible lacks the express declaration that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are of equal essence’ [said Protestant theologian Karl Barth].”
Yale University professor E. Washburn Hopkins affirmed: “To Jesus and Paul the doctrine of the trinity was apparently unknown; . . . they say nothing about it.”—Origin and Evolution of Religion.
thats why it is hard to understand, eventhose who believe in it differ in their explanations of the trinity

Within Christianity, the doctrine of the Trinity states that God is a single Being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a perichoresis of three persons (personae, prosopa): Father (the Source, the Eternal Majesty); the Son (the eternal Logos or Word, incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth); and the Holy Spirit (the Paraclete or advocate). Since the 4th Century AD, in both Eastern and Western Christianity, this doctrine has been stated as "One God in Three Persons," all three of whom, as distinct and co-eternal "persons" or "hypostases," share a single Divine essence, being, or nature.
that is the explanation of the holy trinity, why people say you might find it difficult to understand, is unless you have been raised in the faith, then it's hard to believe ones faith. you would have to believe in the concept, especially the holy spirit aspect.

I understand the concept of the "Trinity", is difficult to totally comprehend it from the human point of view, but I know that God is God the father, God the son and God the holy spirit, when Jesus was here on earth he was God the son 100% human and 100% divine at the same time, our tiny mini, little minds don't fully grasp the mystery of God, but one day we are gonna be able to understand all that seems unbelievable or had to understand here on earth , and that they will be when we are with Jesus in Paradise.

Paul said exactly that to some Greeks. He pointed out a monument to an 'unkknown God'. I think the Trinity is simple, God has a Mind (Father), a body (Son), and a soul (Holy Spirit).
In that sense, you could say that man was created in his image.

The point is very simple. God is so above us that we cannot understand Him. Nobody can. It would be like trying to make a sardine to learn to read. Do you think it is possible ?
There is a story about Saint Agustin, bishop of Hippona, who was trying to understand God.
The story says that Agustin was one day walking on the beach, thinking , when he came upon a little child who was pouring water from the sea into a hole. Saint Agustin asked the child what was he doing, and the child answered that he was trying to pour all of the water of the ocean into the hole.
Saint Agustin told the child that it was impossible.
According to the story, the child said then: "Agustin, it is easier to pour all of the water of the ocean into this hole than it is for you to understand God"

Passage 1 Corinthians 2:14:
14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned
The things of God are not understood by the intellect primarily. They are learned by asking God to reveal Himself to us and by asking for wisdom.
God takes on three forms: One of the Father, one of the Son and one of the Holy Spirit. They are three forms of the same person. How can we fully understand the Maker when He made us of a different nature than His? Can a dog understand the abilities of his owner? Can a bug understand the nature of the plant he crawls upon? No. They can only understand within their created realm of understanding. BUT humans have a Spirit. To man's spirit, God can reveal Himself. All one must do is to ASK Him and He WILL reveal Himself to YOU.

A lot of christians don't understand what they are reading so they tell people to really understand the Bible you have to have the holly spirit inside of you. Basically they don't know what they're talking about so how could they explain it to soemone else? The truth is a lot of christians can't, so they use this to get out of explaining it. My dad does this all the time, it makes me so mad because I probably get it more than he does.
