The Armor of God
10Finally, (A)be strong in the Lord and in (B)the strength of His might.
11(C)Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the (D)schemes of the devil.
12For our (E)struggle is not against (F)flesh and blood, but (G)against the rulers, against the powers, against the (H)world forces of this (I)darkness, against the (J)spiritual forces of wickedness in (K)the heavenly places.
13Therefore, take up (L)the full armor of God, so that you will be able to (M)resist in (N)the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
14Stand firm therefore, (O)HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING (P)PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,
15and having (Q)shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;
16in addition to all, taking up the (R)shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the (S)flaming arrows of (T)the evil one.
17And take (U)THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the (V)sword of the Spirit, which is (W)the word of God.

Satan regularly accuses believers before God, seeking to tear down their sense of well-being and wear down their strength through guilt (Job 1:6–11; Eph. 4:27; 6:11; Rev. 12:10).
How, then, should we as believers respond to this dangerous enemy?
1. We need to remind ourselves that Satan has been defeated by the death and resurrection of Christ, and therefore we need not submit to him or fear him (Heb. 2:14–15; 1 John 3:8; Rev. 20:10). Our Lord Jesus is familiar with his enticements and has met him head on—and won (Luke 4:1–13; Heb. 4:15).
2. We need to remember that Satan’s power and impact are limited by God. Ultimately he is not free to do whatever he wants (Job 1:7–12; 2:6; John 14:30–31; 2 Thess. 2:7–8).
3. We are to stand opposed to Satan at all times. He will flee when we do (1 Pet. 5:8–9; James 4:7).
4. We are to equip ourselves for this constant battle (Eph. 6:13–18).
5. We need to lean on God, who gives us the power to escape Satan’s various temptations and enticements (Eph. 6:11; 1 Cor. 10:13).
6. We must maintain a healthy respect for the power of the evil one and for the constant battle that he wages against us. This is not a game; it is a life-and-death struggle in which there will be casualties (1 Tim. 3:7; 1 Pet. 5:8; Jude 9).

You cannot stop Satan from attacking you. Like you said, he wants us to sway away from Christ. In Ephesians 6 Paul tells us to put on the armor of God. Satan began tempting believers in Genesis and he even tempted Jesus. If we follow Paul's teaching it will be much easier to resist temptation. Also, David said "I write your word on my heart that I might not sin against you". Scripture memorization is a must for all believers.

First, read the Book of Job. You will find that Satan starts attacking him, big time. Why? To try and show God, to make Job start hating God. And so forth. God allows it to strengthen Job, prove once and for all who he is, and to encourage others to follow God, even when we think we can't. In the end, God shows himself to Job, teaches him why this happened, and then blessed him doubled, because of how faithful Job remained.
There is nothing we can do to prevent Satan from trying to attack us. However, when we resist the Devil he will flee from us. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

He does this because he does not want people to worship God.
The account of Job is a good example of how Satan wants to mislead people.
It's not easy to prevent Satan from attacking. You must shun what God hates and resist temptations that lead into sin.

Why would he try to sway you form y our beliefs? Hollywood does that, and so do schools, and government. The true tool of the devil is us. Without the the evidence of God we become god's in our own mind. The lack of God's interaction with us in the moment is the devil's most precious tool. remember what faith is, and make your decision, that is all that any of us can do.
