He got stuck inside of a glass and couldn't get out. Rumor has it, Barney didn't like the competition and shoved him in...
Update! The "Grimace in the glass" was just a decoy to throw off the search to rescue him. He was actually kidnapped and fitted with cement boots, then sent to look for Sponge Bob and his boyfriend, Patrick, in the Atlantic Ocean. Second link below is the last known photo of him, recovered from a surveillance camera at a 7-11 the day he was kidnapped while on vacation in Miami. Apparently he was about to head in and get a big gulp, not having had one since he broke up with the Hamburgler. All indicators point to the work of the Barney underworld being behind this evil scheme as well.

Grimace ws a big purple blob who was always drinking milkshakes. He lasted longer than Big Mac the police chief, but I think disapeared before the McNugget gang set in. I actually had a comb from a Happy Meal as a kid that had Grimace on the handle. (Remember when you had big combs in your back pocket?)

Yes, I remember him. He is the EVIL Grimace. He is not the same as the Hamburglar, though, who as I recall was a type of Hamburger Mutant.
The Evil Grimace was human. Sort of.

I totally remember the Grimace: a big purple monster who loved shakes. He disappeared along with the Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, and the Goblins (who stole French Fries)

grimace was the sh*t!! i miss the guy! unfortunately, though, i have no freakin' clue what he is or where he came from. i say he's a REALLY moldy hamburger that got huge from a radioactive substance....kind of like the ninja turtles....except grimace doesn't know martial arts...he just kind of hops around like Barney the dinosaur.
