i agree that it would be better i.e. more convenient for the voters. i'm not sure that it would be cheaper tho. yes, a lot of the people manning the ballot boxes are volunteers, but they are taking time off of work etc.

My real fear is the new voting machines that do not produce any record of our votes. How do we know what the programmers have told the machines in how to tally votes? Why are their two companies that supply these voting machines and they are owned by two brothers? When asked if the software can be viewed they state it is proprietary information so we can't even tell if the coding is improper. It is beginning to sound more like Russia than the USA!!!!

In Nevada, we have Early Voting for 2 weeks prior to any election. Then, regular voting on the regular election day happens, and, hopefully, all the votes are counted. I know that in some states and counties, some votes are not counted at all.

I think it would be better if voting day were a national holiday so that everyone would actually be able to dedicate time to it instead of getting too busy and letting someone else worry about what moron they are electing.

Keep it the way it is. Their are a couple of weeks where the shut-ins, elderly, handicapped, etc....can vote and be counted. If we extended the voting for "everyone" in general....it would be just like the licenses branches....everyone would rush in the last day.
Just keep it the way it is.

The problem with elections is they are prone to fraud. To prevent this all balloting is done on one day to prevent the "Vote well and often" approach to politics---like Chicago in the 1920's
