Proof God exists!!!?

Question

i have veritible proof.
In the Holy Quran, it says "God created the earth and seven heavens". This was revealed over 1400 years ago, when science was not as advanced as it is today. Science recently proved that the atmosphere is divided into seven layers.
WOW. There is your proof!!! :-) I seriously swear God exists! These facts don't just happen, this is complete proof.

But I will say to those with TRUE faith, yes, you are all right. we don't NEED the facts like these to PROVE our faith, we will always have it. But i just wished it would open up peoples minds. Apparently, however, they don't wish to.

^ Amen Girl, FAITH IS ALL WE NEED. Just by saying that, many people still wont believe in God, So there's nothing you can do, or prove, Our Faith is 100% stronger.

I am not sure of the seven layers, the classification is probably somewhat arbitrary; you would also have to include space.

Science was more advanced long ago than we think. Arabs absorbed much of the wisdom of the Sassanian empire, Grecian empire, ect... and so Arab science, especially medical science was more advanced (I am not an expert in this area but this is common knowledge).

It may be that different angles of refracted light was measured from the horizon and then calculation done to determine air density in the atmosphere.

On proofs, one must understand that understanding is the spectrum between knowledge and experience. Also one can not know without experience and one can not experience without knowing. Even in the sciences, as physics, we run our tests and get back data, it is a very physical thing, so we experience it.

On proofs of God, there are various types: 1) creation proves it. 2) Knowledge of God is written in our hearts the Bible says, 3) Jesus proved "with many infalible proofs" that he is the son of God, so Jesus proved God's existence, 4) most of our judgements are synthetic a-priori and our thought is transcendental, implying God exists (I am getting this from Immanuel Kant but I am not saying he said that; I am not sure if there is a counter arguement on this point, needs further study), ect... there are other kinds of proof.

Okay and how exactly can you be sure that the seven layers of atmosphere are the seven heavens that are indicated in the Quran?
This is not evidence, this is just a convenient way of interpreting that sentence. Now if the Quran said: 'God created the earth and seven layers of air (or gas) that would surround it and sustain life...' I might be tempted to believe you. Besides I think the atmosphere actually has five layers: troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, exosphere.
So I'm very curious to know what the other two layers are...

If that is all the "complete proof" you require that your deity exists, then I'd say you're probably going to do much better in Letters than in the Sciences.

Seven layered atmosphere = seven heavens = "complete proof" based on myth and metaphor with a pinch of faith to taste.

"Heavens" meaning "Sky," mr2006man.

That is just one of many proofs. Show me someone that can make a seed from nothing. Tell me how a duck-billed platypus still exists if evolution is true. Etc, etc.

But still, as they say, "man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."

Believing in God takes discernment. Jesus spoke in parables so that those seeking the Truth would find it. Those that didn't care would dismiss them as nothing more than stories or fairy tales. What we believe in is our own choice, and all the "proof" in the world won't convince some people (just ask the Pharaoh when his kingdom was hit with the plagues).

Keep digging. You will find even more fascinating facts and proofs as you go. Pay no attention to those that try to hinder you. I'm praying for you!

The Holy Quran was written by man. This might prove that people were aware of 7 layers of atmosphere, but this definately does not prove that there is a God.

If your only requirement that God exists, is an apparent scientific quote in a sacred text, then convert to Hinduism today because:
1: The RigVeda contains far more scientific quotes (that are accurate) than the Q'ran does.
2: The RigVeda was written millennia before the Q'ran, demonstrating that the God of the RigVeda is more intelligent than the God of the Q'ran

There was science a long time before that was ever written, people were just afraid to tell anybody else about it. Seven heavens could have come from the different colors seen during sunrise and sunset.

the bible says that air has wieght, the earth is round, the earth is hanging in the middle of nothing, the life is in the blood, dead bodies pass diesease, promotes hygeine, tells how the weekly cycle begins...
its prohecies predicts babylon's destruction, egypt's fall, rise and fall of earth's greatest empires, predicted the opening and closing of the Holy Roman empire, the coming and going of the Islam and ottoman turks, the 1st coming of Christ, the captivity of the Israelites by egypt, babylon.. the exact way they will be delivered...
and those are only some of the fulfilled prophecies..
what more shall i say?

That isnt proof at all, seeing as how the bible says nothing of god creating a seven layer atmosphere because he loved us so damn much. If god exists may he strike me and my family down.
