I've certainly done things she would not be proud of in the past. I try to live a good life, though I fall short sometimes. I think she would be proud of my recent efforts to finish school and move in a more positive direction in life. She died when I was eleven, so I think about whether or not she would be proud sometimes. I hope so.

The question is should I be proud of the way my mother is acting?

I think I'm becoming a better person lately, so I hope so. She's worried about some stuff, but she just doesn't want me to get hurt again. I think if things keep going the way they have been, she'll eventually get over her caution & be proud that my life finally turned out decent. :)

I do not really know what she thinks of me now. I have not spoken to her in over a year, so I guess she could have changed her mind and let pride take over, but last time I did talk to her she hated everything. I was engaged and she was totally against it and told anyone that came to my wedding, that she would not longer associate with them either. I have had such tormented and feelings of loss and abandonment and I don't know what will ever become of this.

my mother has never been proud of me and probably never will. so i don't let it bother me because i am a wonderful person and choose not to allow her insecurities hurt me any longer. I choose to love her from a distance!
