Unlike for Muhammad, there's no evidence that would past the muster of any true historian that Jesus Christ ever existed.

Dying on a cross does not benefit mankind in anyway (other than the kind of man that wants to see you die) and therefore Muhammad and the mythical Jesus could not die for our sins.

He may have been willing, but the difference between Mohammad and Christ is that Christ was fully God and fully man--therefore deity--whereas Mohammad, in my opinion, was only a mortal prophet. Only God could atone for the sins of mankind, so only God, in the form of the Man, Jesus Christ, could pay our sin debt by sacrificing His life and then rising from the dead so those who trust in Him will never die.

Wow, what a crazy mix of answers! Arveen, I suspect English probably isn't your native language but I understand what you are trying to say.

As you are probably aware, Muslims don't believe that one person can pay/atone for another's sins. This is a strange concept to some people.

However, our legal system provides a few examples of paying for another: if your child damages someone else's property, YOU (the parent) must pay the victim. Again, if someone without car insurance borrows your car and has an accident, the accident counts against YOU in the eyes of the insurance company. YOUR insurance rates will probaby go up.

This concept is more easily understood if you realize that there is nothing you can do to completely compensate/atone for sin. If you murder, what can you do that will make up for this? If you say something vicious, what can remove those words from someone's mind?

As for Jesus, He DID have a choice. He could easily have escaped in the Garden of Gethsemane, but knew it was the appointed time. As He later told Pilate in John 19:11, "You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above."

His sacrificial love for all of us, as well as obediance to the Father is what motivated Him. In John 15:13 He says,
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." And in John 10:15: "... I lay down my life for the sheep."

Yes, it's a pretty awesome and powerful thing that Jesus did - NO-ONE ELSE can match it.

Wot Muhammad willing to die!!!

He is already dead weirdo some fourteen hundred years ago and what is this sucking guilt Bogey of Christ dying for my sins.... i am a fine man and don't call me a sinner! That sucker died for his own freaking loony beliefs at the hands of the Romans and the Jews. Let me live my own life without all this freaking rubbish guilt!

Don't you have anything substantial to offer but this emotional begging bowl?

No. Islam teaches that the notion of automatic salvation is incorrect. According to Islam, Jesus did not die for anyone's sins, but rather was raised up by God and will return at the end of time. In Islam, Jesus and Muhammad BOTH taught the message of worshipping one God, that you are placed on this Earth solely to worship your creator - one God who has no sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, associates, etc.

There is no guaranteed salvation in Islam. No one died for your sins. There is no free pass. You must earn your way to Heaven (just like you earn your rewards in everything you do in this life) by worshipping God, doing good deeds, and staying away from bad deeds and that which God has deemed forbidden (such as stealing, murder, fornication, adultery, etc.)

prophet Muhammad did not die for mankinds sins just like Jesus Christ. Muslims actually believe that you have to ask God for forgiveness and that everyone is responsible for his or her own actions.

I am christian, but be careful that you don't offend someone. Remember only Israel made a vow to the law and Christ came not but for the lost sheep of the House of Israel. Jesus Christ redeemed them from the curse of the law by his death. Ishmael became the twelve princes of Arabia and never knew Moses or the law. God told Abraham to send Hagar and Ishmael away. God said that Ishmael would become a great nation, but his inheritance would not be with Israel. If A man was truly from Ishmael and loved his brother Jacob he would understand that Jacob [Israel]made a vow to the law and would need redemption. If God wants them to see, the spirit will lead them. God Bless

What sins have we done??? Adam disobeying God's command is between him and God. What unjust God would punish innocent people for the sin of one person?

If you and your family were on trial for Hitler's crimes wouldn't you protest this! wouldn't it be unfair, and you would do anything possible for the charges to be dismissed, and get this ridiculous man-made law changed so it wouldn't burden anyone else!! So ....how does it make sense that our Creator, the Just,All-Knowing,All-Merciful..impose such injustice on us?? Why would he send someone (Jesus)to die for a sin neither
or us committed??

Islam teaches us that Adam sinned and asked for God's forgiveness and God forgave him. Nor did God blame Eve for his sin and the Quran carried the blame on both equally. With Adam's sin forgiven, What was the need of Jesus( pbuh) then? Well God sent him to the Jews after He promised them the coming of a Messiah. They had gone astray from God's message and God sent Jesus (pbuh) to remind them. His job was similar all previous messengers of God (Moses,Solomon,David,..etc. Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) was such too, he was sent as the final messenger of God.

No cross was involved in both journeys. So, no need to compare. Both were special and great men of God. May God (swt) send his peace and blessing unto both.

All toghether now! I don't care if it rains or freezes so long as I have my plastic Jesus on the dashboard of my car, He comes in pink, green and yellow, glows in the dark cause he is irodesent, so long as I have my plastic Jesus I'll go far! .........One More Time!
