It is an instrument that by sheer force pushes out a projectile at a very high velocity, usually a bullet. The hammer strikes the end of the bullet, causing an explosion and the bullet travels down the barrel and out to the intended target. It is used by most military forces, police and others who either legally or illegally carry a weapon, just to mention a few.

Something that uses pressure to fire a projectile. That could mean a blow gun, a squirt gun, a nail gun or a Colt 45.

A gun is an instrument of destruction and a weapon of death. It's sole purpose is to kill, wound, maim and destroy. It is terror when pointed at you by a gunman and salvation when you point it at a criminal. Aiming and pulling the trigger is a decision you live with all your life, if you live, that is. It is not a toy, a joke or a game.

in the military there is a gun, the one in your pants! We men in the military carry rifles, pistols, semi-automatic rifles, fully automatic rifles, and other hand and arm held weapons. The only guns we hold in our hands are the ones we pee with or give girls some lovin' with.
