If they play the part of a murderer or other type of sinner, but they are really Christian, will they have to answer to God for their portrayals?

I really would like your opinions on this.

I've wondered this as well. A sis is a sis. Well if they are Christians they can act how they want from a thief, to a murdered, to a rapist, to doing the Omen or even writing it and then asking for forgiveness. And poof sis begon!
I've wondered about the actors in the new Omen. I love Julia Stiles but I hear crazy things are already happening to her (Satins going) Just like in the Poltergeist in the 80's.

We will all answer to God for everything, but to play a bad guy in a movie is not being the bad guy for real. For all practical reasons, a Hollywood bullet doesn't kill (except in a few unfortunate accidents), therefore the actor pulling the trigger is not committing murder.

Going a little overboard tonight, eh? But, come to think of it, most actors use the method, so would have to have experienced what they act! OMG! Actors are rapists and murderers! I never thought of it like that before...thank you for the enlightenment. I knew there was a reason I think Tom Cruise sucks.

I like to think that they won't have to answer for a portrayal. Personally, I don't think we commit sins simply because of a thought either. It's the actions we are accountable for. Nothing more, nothing less.

Let's take Mel Gibson for example. He portrayed a lot of what might considered to be evil...yet after his Passion of the Christ movie, he hasn't portrayed anything of a murderer or sinner role...

I'm sure he will be judged for his previous roles. But I am leaving the judging to God.

Well, personally.. i don't think acting should be encouraged... anyway, lucifer was the first actor in the world... got symphaty from most of the inhabitants of heaven.. one of the resons why Jesus had to come and unmask him to the true form of sin...
and also acted as the snake i the garden...

but anyway.. i suppose it boils down to the purpose in ones life..
if one does it to the glory of God or not... if it doesn't glorify His name.. no point acting i would say...

It's only acting. They've not murdered anyone. All dead actors get up and walk away after filming, so no one has actually committed any sins. Think about it :)

Blessed Be!

We are only concerned about real sins, not what is done in pretend mode.

However, if I harbor thought of genuinely killing this person, that's where the sin comes in.

Sin in churches is the real sin with accusers. Christ said 'Where are your accusers?' ' Then I don't accuse you also.' A sin against the group has to be punished.
