First of all what does social level has to do with any relationship? where is your head? relationships of any kind dont go by status quo or social ladders. It goes by the person who you are not what you are or have. Everyone is a human being and everyone puts their pants on the same way. What kind of person are you to even think something like this social level omg. Love true love dont come from level ladders or social placement it comes from the heart

It definitely matters near the high levels of society. For example a well-to-do successful family living in the Hampton's didn't spend resources (time and money) to raise you well and send you to one of the best colleges to get a first rate education --- and then you repay them by dating someone far beneath their hard-worked for premium status.....their hopes for their children is to accomplish better than they did or at least as well.
Should you persist in carrying on a relationship considered sub-par, the parents have ways of sending you a message: If you're in college --you may find your tuition cut off, if you're part of the family business - you could find yourself demoted or worse fired...the absolute worse is being disowned and cut out of any inheritance.
A person from a privileged family who dates/marries too far down will likely find himself closed out of the high social circles (parties etc) as they close ranks and make you an object of ridicule. The parents have their own reputations, class status, business relationships with other high class people at risk -- so if they and other family members failed at getting you in line, expect them to distance themselves from you. Remember the king who married a commoner --- he lost the throne.

if you feel something deep for this guy should it matter? if social class matters to you its like putting a price tag on yourself . if you were made to choose between a poor but kind and honorable man and a man rich enough to buy you the world but does not respect , who would you choose?
