Air Force. It's more cool and you're not out to sea for months.

Air Force all the way! It would be best for you mechanic career, plus you'll have more time to spend with your wife (and later on, your family).

In the Navy, you'll be out on a ship in the middle of the ocean for 6 months at a time. If you want to visit your family, then you had better learn how to swim long distances.

So what is my recommendation? AIR FORCE ALL THE WAY!

Air Force. My fiance is the air force as a mechanic and loves it. He doesn't get sent away often and it is a lot safer. If you go in the Navy you will be at sea 6 mos at a time. Air Force is definitely the way to go if you want as much time with your wife. Like I said my finace loves his job. Good luck!

the risk about sea duty with navy is definately true..especially in aviation..same if you go Marine Corps. So sounds like Air Force is for you. However I understand the Air Force is about to start reducing their numbers a bit, so keep that in mind. Boot camp is going to be a little longer than it has been and possibly schools getting longer.

But I don't believe they are making 10,000 sailors into foot soldiers in Iraq ESPECIALLY if CNN (communist news network) says so.

Air Force if you have a family. There is a possibility you could be stationed over seas, but at least your family can come with you. If you go Navy chance of sea duty and you'll be out at sea for long spans of time. Air Force.

air force. Two of my cousins {their twins} a boy and a girl are in the air force and they sya it is a great experience my cousin valerie is in the security forces and is going in september to kuwait then november she is being deployed to iraq to guard weapons. My cousin scott on the other hand is an airplane mechanic and loves it. As long as you don't get in trouble for leaving base whens you're not allowed or for drinking you will be able to go home on holidays..my cousins couldn't come home for christmas though because they were caught drinking..Valerie was telling me about basic and she said she had to put on all the heavy equipment, hold a big gun, and get over a 6 foot tall wall..I can't remember what else she had to do in basic, sorry, but i know that at first she was very homesick but also said it is the best experience of her life and both of my cousins are going to be in it for life.
good luck.

Air Force. They are taking over 10,000 Navy sailors and making them foot soldiers in Iraq per CNN and Navy recruiter.
