Hello, It does not matter if the Individual is a Police Officer or not, Forgery is still against the Law. Forgery is a Crime that hits many people on a daily basis world-wide. If you (FORGE) anyone's name & for any reason. If the Individual gave you expressed permission to do so than that's o.k. but, you are actually committing Forgery. It all depends on the reason/s as to why & to what extent & or Damages caused to the Victim/s Name/s. I do wish you well & good day! rumeoui.

Oh, I know what you did. You got a ticket for a mechanical violation, signed an officer's name and sent it in. Firshame!!
Yes, forgery and I believe (but I haven't looked) that there will be associated charges having to do with sending a forged document to the court and representing it to be true, and since the purpose was to evade paying a fine, there's probably something there too. If that's not what you (or a friend did) what was it then???

Depends on what you forged it on could include any of the following and I am sure many other charges - depending on your state:
forgery
obstruction of goverment operations
impersonating a law enforcement officer

and not to forget

POP - ____ing off the police

Why would you want to do something that stupid?

You could face a number of charges, including forgery and obstruction, depending on where you live. If you're thinking of doing it because you got a stupid little fix it ticket, the fines, attorney's fees and aggravation will definately be more severe than taking care of the ticket.
