Start with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the New Testament. Then Psalms and Proverbs in the Old Testament. That should give you a good start.

that rocks! :)
there is no 'good order'. when reading the Bible, you need to be open to God's voice for guidance. that sounds kinda corny but i 'stumble' onto verses that i'm sure He guided me to. Do you have any background at all in Christianity? Finding a good church to attend will be very helpful. If you are new to reading the Bible, a good pastor can help guide you. I LOVE reading the Psalms. The book of Job is awesome too. There is a lot writing 'in between the lines'. I have just gotten back to my faith (at 25 years old) and I didn't grow up actually reading the Bible. i just went to church and prayed before meals. i have learned SO much from several books. Charles Stanly writes EXCELLENT books. Go to a local Christian bookstore. tell them you are interested in learning more about the Bible and ask them if they have any good reads that might help steer you.

That's very admirable. Since Jesus Christ is His only begotten son who came to earth partly to teach us about His Father, the so called "Greek Scriptures" or "New Testament" starting with the four eyewitness accounts of the Gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John will give you everything Christ said and did about God himself, as well as practical guidelines as to how to get to know him closer and a have a personal relationship with him and how to make your personal decisions in the way that can take Him into cosideration and let Him direct your life in the most beneficial way to you. You can find these four books a little after the middle of a complete BIble (you can check the Index up front usually for page numbers).
I'm attending a free convention this weekend regarding this and I also happen to have been a volunteer Bible Teacher for most of my life. I'd be delighted to help. Start with looking for an original Bible translation that has kept God's personal name in it. If the translators can respect the author of the BIble, they'll have a pretty accurate translation straight from the original languages, not just a version with personal interpretations...Careful!!!

Start with the best aspects of yourself. Then, if you are a determined seeker of spiritual truths, you might try getting the following:

*A Concordance in Arabic, Hebrew and Latin

* The King James and the Apocrypha writings

* The writings of Buddha

* The Torah (English)
And you will need courage; required to be brutally honest about yourself.

My best to your search.

skip the old testament for awhile. read Matthew first then Mark, and work your thrue the New Testament. The old testament is more confusing, and in some ways it is less relevant since it was written before the birth of Christ.

In order because say you're reading a gospel they have the same plot, but might have some different things about them.
But other than that read which ever one you please in any order.
