i was one for a year when i was about 15. i turned away from it, because my friend, well, the gal who i thought was my friend, forced me to do something i didn't want to do, and changed my life forever. she gave me an ultimatum, and said that if i didn't do this, then she wouldn't be my friend. this was a gal in about her late 20s. i never became religious after that again.
they are very smotherous, if that's even a word. i don't know, it just didn't feel right. i was also a mormon for a year when i was about 11.

I left because I was young and thought I was missing out on something good in the world,so I left and went out and lived in the world, for a while, I even got into some drugs after living in where I thought I was not going to miss anything Good, for a while, but thenI realised that my life became empty and void and that the things that I thought were missing in my life were nothing but what glitters is fools Gold, so I decided I had to go back to the real life, and am back for good as long as I live, I plan to stay on Jehovah's side, because the other side is pointless without purpose, without hope, without truth!!!! So I guess your Question is now not aimed at me,because now I am not an ex anymore but I told you why I was an ex JW, for a while, so hope I have answered you to a point at least.

and we are basicaly on our own to do right or screw up I dont go to any meatings or church right now but I still am a christian I didnt realy turn away from J.W. but I dont believe its the only one true religion too much has been changed to have one true religion

(Proverbs 26:11) Just like a dog returning to its vomit, the stupid one is repeating his foolishness
(2 Peter 2:21,22) For it would have been better for them not to have accurately known the path of righteousness than after knowing it accurately to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them. The saying of the true proverb has happened to them: “The dog has returned to its own vomit, and the sow that was bathed to rolling in the mire.”

My friend left because his parents split up and all he knew was his parents love and being a Jehovah's witness. So he could no longer believe.
