With guys, it is whomever calls it first. If you know her the longest , doesnt matter, but if you tell your friends that you are after her "Dibs", then the other guys should stay away. You can only have "Dibs" on one girl at a time too.

Well, I notice u didn't mention if he liked her back. In a way I guess it makes u a bot of a backstabber, since u knew how she feels about him, put urself in her shoes, it hurts that her friend is going out with a guy she really likes. It doesn't really matter how long u have known him, the fact is she liked him and Im sure she has talked about how much she liked him to you and the the next thing she knows u& he are going out.
So she feels like u stabbed her in the back. Thats why she feels the way she does. She's hurt, she feels betrayed by her friend.

not at all because if she was in your place she would do the same thing. she should respect the fact that you liked him longer and just step back if she is a real friend. i'm pretty much sure that this guy is not the only guy in the world. if she wants to end a friendship over a guy, then you probably wouldn't want a friend like that.

Well that all depends.....Does your friend know you liked him before she did? If she didn't than YOUR FRIEND probably thinks you are. Than you've gotta ask yourself this....is this guy worth losing your friend over? Would she hesitate to do the same thing to you? You've gotta follow your own heart on this one....no one could give you the right answer. My best friend talked me out of marrying a guy once. I didn't marry him because she made me feel guilty now I haven't talked to her in about 8 years and he married someone else...pretty crappy huh? No matter what follow your heart!

Girls are by nature jealous. Your friend is probably jealous that you got a date with him and she didn't. She is also hurt that he likes you better. You're not a back stabber. Just try to let it ride out. If she enjoys your friendship as much as you do to be worried about this that she will come around. If not than she probably wasn't a true friend to begin with to let a guy end you friendship.

my friends and I had a rule that no one dates a guy that we both like unless we agree that its okay.We were 13 when we made that rule and my friends didnt stick to it.I dont think it makes you a backstabber, but you should talk to your friend and let her know how important her friendship is to you.

no, but you need to think back through your friendship and deciede how good of a friend she is. If she is a good friend you don't want to lose, then you need to relent regardless of you being in the right. Good luck with your decsion
