I received this text message from my boyfriend: "Have not heard from you in hours, makes me wonder." So naturally I call him and go off because I felt like he was "not trusting" me and treating me like a little kid checking up on me. He said I took it completely wrong and he was just "checking in". Tell me if I over-reacted or if you would get the same impression I got if you received that message. ( I was not even out, I was watching the Stanley Cup Finals on TV!!!!!)

he's just denying that he was "checking in", he just feels insecure about you. Therefore he don't trust you fully that you won't cheat on him and you won't leave him. Many guys (including myself) start off like that. But if the guys don't realize that soon it will turn into a abusive relationship when they just repeatively denying that they don't trust you and your judgement. you should talk to him about it. if he doesn't say that he realize that he is feeling insecure and not trusting you. then I suggest you get away from him before it gets very ugly.

I had a similar reaction to a similar text message. It makes it seem like they are being controlling, and insecure and it is a total turn off. BUT, take into consideration that it is typed and you don't know the tone of the message. At this point, he knows how you feel about it, and see if he continues or gets worse.

Yeah, it's understandable why you went-off on him. "..makes me wonder." would make the reader think that their partner thinks they are doing something wrong and have have a lack of trust at the moment. I wouldn't say the fact that you over-reacted is right, but it's totally understandable and 90% of people who would read that would act the same way.......or atleast [like me] think the same thing.

May just be a small communication problem, work on it . But don't let it steal your fun. But he was checking up and in at the same time. Ask him how come he feels guilty? It will start a fight and both of you are drama people!

I would have responded in the same way. Why would he send a message like that. If he wanted to know what you were doing, or something, he could have put it in other words. Words that would have been more respectful.

Depends on how often do you talk to each other on the phone. If he doesn't call you you think he's having an affair, if he does call, he's not trusting you. Is there any way a guy could win. Hell yeah you overreacted!

NO he is a paranoid ****. Men like this are trouble and they become very annoying after a while. You are not a child and he is not you dad. He thinks you cheating and when you say you arent and he says bs, he might as be calling you a whore. Do you want a man like this as a husband?

The stanely cup FINALS? I wouldn't trust you either lol j/k...if he makes a habit of doing this then I say there is a reason for concern...if it was just this once then i wouldn't worry about it

Sorry I would say you over reacted. cos my husband says i check in on him even when I ust call to say hi or have not seen him for awhile and truly miss him. put yourself in his shoes. unless you give him reason to think that you are doing something wrong

I like it when my husband shows a little jealous side but when he is a little over jealous over nothing then it makes me go off. Be happy he is wondering about you.
