May be nothing, but could be very serious. Go to the vet.

Anytime you find a lump of any kind on your pet, you should always make an appt. with your Veterinarian to get it checked out. It's probably nothing serious. If you can move it around then it is most likely not a tumor. Had your cat had any vaccines or shots for anything recently? A lot of times after a shot, the area will get a small lump at the injection site. Good luck!

could be an abucessed may need to take it in and get it drained dont do it urself or could cause major infection, cats have the most dirtiest mouths aside humans, a bit could cause a mega abcessed and will need to be taken care of, im pretty sure thats what it is and it doesnt cost too much at a vet, usually its about 40 max for an appt and sometimes they will just open it for u right there and thats it but it depends on what it is dont let him lick it if it opens either

Don't put you cat down! You need to find out what it is. Also, if you are told it is something bad make sure you seek a second opinion. I was told my cat had lymphoma and it turned out to be imflamatory bowel disease which is treatable. Make sure to see a vet. It may be nothing. If it is something like cancer it may be removed. Just don't give up hope and don't get too worried yet without seeing a vet.

a cyst can be removed or will break and drain of the puss.. if your kitty goes outside this would likely be the result of a cat fight - another reason why indoor cats live healthier / safer / longer lives....
it could be cancer too, and remember many pet cancers are related to eating poor quality pet food - particularly preservatives BHT, and BHA and the prservative used in By-Products (called Ethoxyquin, but it wont be on the lable as it is part of the by-product)

it could be an infection from a scratch or bite from another animal, it could be something more serious.. or less serious. If it lasts more than a few weeks take him to a vet and find out.
