Yes it may be special to some but not to all.
I think a Dictionary would be sold and read more often then a bible but I could be wrong.
Not everyone is a believer in the Bible.
After all we believe in what we must.
That's why, we where all born with free will.
To have an open mind I think God would appreciate it more then someone that closed down to one book and lived their life by that book.
And with the amount of hypocrites in the world that is enough to turn people away from the Holy Bible
We are all here to experience and develop ourselves.
Love & Blessings
Milly

This is so very true! People 'rag' on the Bible because they generally have not read nor researched the Bible. They talk about 'fairy tales' and stories and magic ,but what they don't talk about are the other books that tie in to the Word also like Habakkuk, Nahum, Joel the Minor Prophets, Isaiah, Hebrews,, The Song of Solomon (such romance!). People can generally be self serving and in so doing have tunnel vision rarely seeing the 'big picture' of anything.

Listen, I don't mean to denegrate your religion but Jesus came AFTER the Old Testament was written. He had access to all those prophesies. In fact, as a devout Jew, he probably studied them very closely. If he wanted to make the seem to come true, all he had to do was do what the prophesies said. And if his disciples wanted to make them seem true after his death, all they had to do was lie about certain details. Because, of course, back then nobody could possibly check.
As for archeology bearing out the truth of the bible, the opposite is more often the case. No archeological evidence exists of Noah or even of a worldwide flood. No scientific evidence exists that God created night and day BEFORE he created the earth.
Glad you have such faith but the actual testable proofs do not support your beliefs.

Did god physically write the bible? No, so therefore he is not an author. Man can not prophecize another misconception. I prophecize/predict that the area affected by Katrina will get another major hurricane to strike it this summer. If this does happen, then how can I, a man prophecize/predict this to happen if only god can?

I second the motion. So nice not to have somebody play slice and dice with it as so many on this category do. The worst part is that they slander something they've never read. And before the jackals jump on my my hump, I have read the entire Bible. Not just so I could say I did, but to more fully understand where all the verses I've heard over and over are embedded with the surrounding context to lend substance to that verse. In other words, I wanted to read it front to back, to see how it all fell into place.

Amen!!! I love to hear peoples opinion on the right book. The King James Version Bible is the right version, and there is nothing wrong in it. Everything written is by the Inspiration of God. Those of you out there that do not believe in it, you will believe when you are sentenced to eternity in Hell. Wise up folks.

Yes! God doesn't miss a thing! No other religion has a prophet who has even made the claims Jesus did!! He not only was the Lamb of God who took our sins, but He was the priest who offered the lamb. He is also our prophet, preist and King, the Good Shepherd, the way the truth and the light, and no one comes before the Father except by Him. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!God is awesome
