How do you feel about Cops?

When you see cops picking on the African American. Do you get a second opinion on about how you feel about cops?

There are good and bad cops..but all in all they are mostly good and we need them and I'm glad we have them..maybe if they weren't so underpaid we'd have more of them.

I've never seen a cop pick on an african american. I have however seen plenty of instances where african americans antagonize the police while the police are trying to do their jobs. There are plenty of very good people that happen to be african american; there also happen to be some that are complete thug jerks.
During the Kentucky derby this year, the african american community put signs around the city say 'shoot a cop' 'kill a cop' all because they weren't allowed to cruise. They weren't allowed to cruise because some of them ruined it for the rest the last few years. There were 3 fatal shootings in one night on the strip where the people like to cruise. In one instance the cops couldn't do their job because some of the african americans were crossing the police tape like it was a game to see how far they could get before someone told them to get back. That isn't funny if you ask me.
So, no... never seen a cop pick on an african american. And I do NOT get a second opinion of African Americans when I see them pick on the COPS and keep them from doing their job. I am a reasonable person and I realize that it is a small percentage of African Americans that are so bad. I realize that it has nothing to do with their skin color, but rather their upbringing and personality... selfish, ungrateful thugs who can't accept responsibility for their own lives.

I have never seen a cop picking on an African American, in fact most of the cops I know are African American. I would say in general, I like cops even when it comes to getting pulled cause usually I am speeding.

There are good cops and bad cops. Some are fair, some not, but one thing they all are is human.

Sometimes Blacks are picked on by cops with an attitude, but sometimes what you see is only a small part of the picture and the police reactions were brought about by the behavior of the individual themselves.

Don't judge all cops by the few bad cops that seem to cause all the trouble.

When I was a cop, one fellow filed a complaint against myself and 2 other officers, claiming we beat him when we arrested him. He was lying through his teeth as it was a wrestling match and no blows ever landed on him. He refused arrest because he knew he was guilty and his behavior was very aggressive. His complaint was dismissed after investigation, but it caused difficulties for myself and fellow officers.

There are many people arrested who make such claims, and many fall back on the excuse that they belong to a specific racial group in order to gain sympathy, they do not get any from me.

For those people of any race who are unjustly abused by an officer/officers, the cops should be punished and removed from the police force if necessary. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior among the police.

P.S. I never racially profiled anyone. What I did was profile behavior, if you happened to be of another race, I did not care what you did, as long as it was legal.

Also, I forgot to mention I was a tribal police officer for a while and most of the bad guys and gals were members of the Tribe, but we got others too.

It depends on what the African American was doing and where it takes place. I'm thankful for most cops but as in any large group of people there are going to be those who give the rest a bad name.

I hate to be involved with them at all as it means there is a problem however everyone is glad to see cop car pull up when you needed them & called them.

As far as picking on African Americans I don't believe it is unwarranted. Most violent crimes in this country are committed by African Americans

It's a tougher choice than one might think but I would rather trust a gang of cops than a gang of black gangsters.

Nice, real nice. You hate cops, but they are the first ones you call when your sorry *** is in a bind.

Do you really expect anyone you hate to do anything above and beyond what is called for as a part of their job to help you?

I used to be a cop and I am married to a cop. Most of the law enforcement officers I know are great people with a real heart for their job.

Don't like getting pulled over? Don't break traffic laws.

I feel that the overwhelming majority of cops do a great job. I wish they were able to kick a little butt without the lawyers swarming. Generally, they don't tend to mess with the innocent ones among us.

I have not seen cops "picking on" blacks. However, I have often seen blacks picking on the cops (throwing bottles included). How does that sit with people?

I am a police officer, and if you don't like "cops" because they always harass you, try not breaking the "law". Everybody hates cops because they are authority figures, and people don't like being told what to do. For an example, I did not really "like" my parents until they couldn't tell me what to do anymore. I don't profile races, but if I see someone dressed like a gang-banger, I assume there a gang-banger. Most of the time I'm right, I run them through CLETS, and guess what, they have warrants.

Cops, generally are stupid people who enjoy hassling the public. If a cop has any sense, he'll work the job for a few years while he's young, then move on to productive employment.

Gees both it truly is meant to be 1/2 humor, or you actually do no longer comprehend of what the gestapo truly did. in the starting up if the police were performing like the gestapo, you'd be in reformatory and overwhelmed only for posting this question!! also because no one else is conscious what got here about on the airport, curiously you do. So why do not you enlighten us with the conclusions you've assumed and jumped to?
