well long hair are hard to manage! thats true! u can beside a ponytail, plates go for a clutcher sort of hairstyle..
but if u really wanna leverage them...firstly have a good haircut ...not making them short but stylish...like laser cut, or even steps.....
u can even colour them ...but beware! as it doesnt suits everyone!!!
so when u will hv a regular cutting and trimming.....u will definately be more stylish and that breaking problem will also reduce. and use good shampoo for hair(that suits u) and always keep them combed...this will reduce the breaking problem! believe me!!
so go ahead...... as people with long hair look best when they deal hair in the best way(even i have long hair too)

I sggest you be as gentle as possible to your hair. Cleanse it with a sulphate-free shampoo or even conditioner only. Use carrier oils like jojoba and sweet almond oil to lightly oil the hair, giving it moisture and softness.
Get a small trim. Start wearing pretty updos and French or English braids. Your hair sounds pretty. Just be gentle and kind to it and re hab it and it will grow and be beautiful.
And, for heaven's sake, don't cut it! Why is it the first thing some people say when they see long hair is to chop it off?
Really!!

I have hair down past my waist. Braids, buns and pony tails. Then, every two years I have about 20 inches cut off and donate it to locks of love. You only have to donate 10 inches for some little girl with no hair at all to get her own pony tail. She feels great, which makes you feel great. Plus, I love the way my hair looks and feels when its growing back. All thick and healthy.

i used to have long hair about mid-back length too but i recently got it cut shorter and had it layered with bangs that are long enough to reach my cheek bones. its really cute and i love it. if you have no idea what kind of hairstyle you like, then you could just search "hairstyles" on the internet. there are many pictures to choose from for hair of all lengths. i hope you find a hairstyle that just "wows" you. good luck

Try trimming it and get some layers on the front and get some red highlights it will look really pretty I guarantee it. But do not go to a cheapy salon, go to somebody that knows what they r doing. It will probably cost you about $130.00 in Regis.

i had hair almost as long as yours but due to bad eating habits and stress ALOT of it fell off and now i am doing better..so i would it just trim it
somethings you can do
get twists to the front and set the rest of your hair entirely and rollers
get someone to take hair and braid a round your forehead and underneath your head forming a "rope like braid"
or
http://www.blackhairstyle.com and click on photo gallery
and when all else fails do a roller wrap

Buns are simple, keep your hair out of your way.
Braids show off color variation well.
Pony-tails/pig-tails are pretty simple, still show off your length.
I have a couple of sticks (look like chop-sticks) I got at a hair store. There's 101 things you can do with them- regular round bun, French twist, etc.

Try using Pantene Pro-V Conditioning Spray. It'll make your hair do whatever you want and covers breakage well. If your hair gets tangled easily buy some Pantene Pro-V Detangler too.

Try learning different braids. They are wonderful for long hair such as mine. I can do several different braids and it doesn't really break the hair if you use cloth bands instead of rubber ones.
