My bestfriend is very ( as in super) smart, she has a great attitude, and she's very pretty--but she feels worthless because nobody (guys) likes her. We tell her thats probably because our school is so small, or that they think she's too smart for them. What can I say to her to help her? She also says that she's such a "nerd" all the time, it gets so annoying! Help!

Alot of guys love "nerds"! She need not worry about that.
All she reall yhas to do is make herself feel more confident about herself and the guys will just start running towards her.
She needs to look more visually appealing, even a small change( like a haircut, or a flirtier stye of clothing) will give a boost to her self confidence.
When someone is more confident about themselves, it attracts more people to them. No one wants to be with someone that all they think about her is that shes really smart. Let them think about her as confident and smart!

Sometimes guys are intimidated by girls with brains, especially if they have brains AND good looks. I was originally thinking "make over"...not sure if that would help. It didn't with me. When I was in JR high I got tired of being "the nerd" I took off my glasses started dressing cool and wearing make up and even played dumb. I started hanging out with the cool kids and smoking pot just to fit in. My grades fell drastically but hey, I was popular! Boys treated me like a bimbo and used and took advantage of me. I was built like a brick house and wanted to be loved. A couple of years later I had a baby. Life went down hill after that.
So I say to your friend... learn to love yourself and accept yourself for who you are. One day you will find someone who loves you for you. Don't change to get friends or to be popular. Concentrate on school and college. Your self esteem will come with time.

Talk to your friend and tell her what you just wrote.I had a friend like that and I use to tell her all of the time that if I were a guy, I would ask her out and we would laugh.Well eventually we would talk to people together and I would introduce her and bring her name up a lot in a positive way and eventually wasn't so insecure.Now she is older and has a child, husband and pregnant for the second time.I hope this helps you and your friend.Good luck!

They are probably intimidated by her looks and her intellectual capabilities. Here I go...this might cause some controversy...I venture to say that the majority of guys out there are attracted to girls who aren't smart. In American society today, people generally think it's cool to be dumb. If she has good looks and intelligence though, its going to take a confident man to approach her. She'll get over it though...just encourage her and let her know her good qualities and tell her to be patient :)

Find some decent nerd loving guys, and start hanging out around them with her. Something's bound to happen... or if the nerd lovers are too dumb to figure it out, you can clue them in. If they jump, good, if not, look elsewhere.

just sit with her and talk to her. tell her how pretty and smart she is and how that in 10 yrs when those kids aer working at mcdonalds and washing cars and shes in med school, she will so not care what those fools think. just reassure her that shes great. let her read this....tell her not to care what people think! be there for her and be her best friend.

you are what you think. tell her to feel that she is special because everyone is special in their own way. I used to feel i was nothing and nobody paid any attention to me it was as if i was invisable. now i know i'm someone special in my own way. some people say im crazy but i don't really care. tell your friend she doesn't have to please anyone but herself. pick her possitive attributes and concentrate on them, kindness, sense of humor, etc.
