I was told I could swish salt and water in my mouth a few times a day after the day of my wisdom tooth surgery, however since I have been doing this I have an starting to get an aching pain in my jaw(just like last time when I got dry socket),however not as bad. If I stop doing the swishing and spitting will my ache go away? Meaning maybe I didn't give myself enough time for my gum to clot.

Or is my jaw just sore from not moving it for a whole day?

Usually if you have a dry socket, you have non stop pain. When I had my wisdom teeth cut out I had some pain, but it would come and go. If it continues after a few days, get it checked out.

I had my wisdom teeth out just over a week ago and I had this horrible soreness in my jaw that was keeping me up at night and then all of a sudden after exactly 7 days it went away!
A nurse told me that because I had bone removed i was bound to have this soreness and it would eventually go away.
Sorry I know it hurts like a ****

i hope you are GENTLY swishing warm salt instead of doing it like there is something between your teeth. that can cause dry socket.

Stop chewing gum, and use mouthwash which doesn't have astringent (alcohol) in it. Salt isn't good for your mouth.
