Oh my god yes. I'm 20 with 2 beautiful babies who are 1 and 2. I hate to even tell people my age because there are so many young mother's out there that are total morons. I think if there ever was a test that had to be taken in order to have children, a big portion of the test should be devoted to common sense. Do you know how many times I've been asked "what should I do, my 2 month old has a temperature of 104." How stupid can these people be? When my girls were a little oyunger, they got wic because of the price of formula. I absolutely hated going to the wic office. I finally took my youngest off formula at 11 months just so I wouldnt have to go to that stupid place again. I mean, girls would let their snotty, dirty kids come up and touch my babies when they were just a few weeks old. This one little girl came right up beside my oldest's carrier, bent down, and sneezed all in her face. The mother didn't even tell her not to touch a baby that small. Another explination, my dad's ex had 5 kids; her oldest was 15 and allowed to have her 22 year old boyfriend stay the night. next was a 12 year old boy that ran away and was sellin pot; 3rd was a 10 year old that she let peirce his own tounge; then her 8 year old, has a breaking and entering charge for breaking into a gas station; her 4 year oldbroke into an upstairs apartment and stole clothes off another liffle girl; then her 2 year old....omg the 2 year old came up to her mom when she was holding my baby (who was then only 1 month old) and slapped her in the face. The dumb bit** didnt even tell that child not to do that!!! anyway, I totally agree that peope should have to take a test before having children. I'd have to say, for being young, my fiance and I do a pretty good job. I'm sure if people were tested, there'd be a lot less stupid people breeding
comment for snake:We weren't financially ready for children; that's why I was on birth control. I've never used taxmoney to pay for my children. That's the reason my fiance works a lot of hours so we dont have our children be a burden to other people. We made them, we'll support them

That would help some, educate others, and eliminate a few "bad seeders", but still doesn't prove that someone would still be a good parent. You have totally well balanced people finding out they are going to have a child and flipping out and doing things that they would never expect them to do (leaving their partner, cheating, stealing, actually losing their scruples) and some people straighten there act up and become a well balanced person. Most however, don't get put to the real test until the child becomes born, that shows who has intelligence to have children and who should really keep parenting and the fact that they can procreate a closed matter. It would be a great idea, but unfortunately there is no way to test the future.

I have felt that way for years. I wish there was some sort of shot that would make you infertile until you could pass a test and get the reversal shot. Unfortunately, this is taking away rights (mostly for the unborn) but this is not an act of democracy. We live in a society where retaining rights is huge and taking away rights from one person, takes them from everyone. Seems like a good idea though, in a perfect world (that probably wouldn't need it).

I think having children and raising children is the most important task on this planet, and yes people should have a license to have them or maybe just mandatory classes about what it is really like to take care of children. While we are on the subject I think that people should have to take premarriage classes as well..

There really should be some kind of test, I know a lot of teenage mothers that are just plain BAD mothers, although I do know a couple that are great mothers. It just depends on the woman I guess. I guess it would be too hard to regulate though... Maybe someday science will figure out a way........

How would the economy survive if only intelligent people were allowed to reproduce. This is a consumer driven economy. Without the hords of mindless prolitariat masses buying up every gizmo, fashion trend, and useless crap we market to them the economy would could not sustain itself. It would be a truly boring world.

They should. But they don't have to. I wish some parents would though.
People do have to get approved to be able to adopt, though! Kind of strange since the birth parents would obviusly make lousy parents since they are giving the kids up. But I think it's good. It's impossible to stop people from getting pregnant though, unless you "fixed" everyone who "failed" the test.

They should have to take a few tests.
The first of which would show if they have the financial ability to care for them and not have to ask us taxpayers to help raise them.
If you cant afford to have them then the other tests are moot.

I think iq tests, and head exams should be required before people can procreate. Its enough to lose sleep over when you think about people adding their genes to the population.
case in point: britney spears.
