I was reading this ladies question and looked the website. It said that they should avoid talking an athiest and that they are grumpy and bitter and will lash out at children etc. I thought this site was awful. I think remember when I went to sunday school as a kid that they made athiests out to be bad people. It sounds like brainwashing. Is that why some Christians don't like athiests? And actually believe athiests to be bad people? When they can be just as moral as anyone else. Sorry about spelling there's no spell checker in add details (optioanl).

Atheists are wonderful people. Most Christians seem to like me.( As far as I know.) Some Christians are real dickholes but I would put feelings aside and help anyone in need. Some Christians are very nonjudgmental. You will find good and bad in all people and races. I know Islamic people that are appalled with terrorism. I abuse everyone equally. People that know me in person know I'm harmless.Sometimes people don't get my humor on answers. Thank you for the thoughtful question.

Christians are not taught that athiests are bad, just not to waste anytime here, or associate with them. An athiest person has made their own choice to not seek out God. If an athiest had enough information about God, they would still not beleive in the spirit of God who created all that you can see and not see.

Just take the time to read a NIV version of the bible, you can make your own assumption, by yourself, it's fun to read and also sad in many ways.
Think of the book as a guilde book, just as a criminal law book is as well. You try to stay within the guide lines.

One of the reasons for the success of Christianity is that there's something in it for everyone. If you're inclined towards pacifism, there's Jesus the Harmless Pacifist Preacher. If you're more of the eye-for-an-eye-every-time type, there's the wrathful jealous God of the Old Testament and the Avenger Christ of the Book of Revelations.

Song of Solomon: Erotic desire is a beautiful thing, a thing to be celebrated.
Letters of Paul (sorry, can't remember which): It's best to be celibate, but if you can't manage that then it's better to marry than to burn.

And so on and on and on. You can find justification somewhere in Christian doctrine for whatever it is that you feel and whatever it is that you've made up your mind to do. So it's hardly surprising that some Christians spread the most unfounded lies about those who don't belong to their little club, nor is it surprising that their kids learn what their parents teach.

Atheists are usually bright, educated, socially conscious individuals. They have proven them selves to be a fine bunch. Stats show that over 70% of the US prison population subscribes to some form of Christianity while less than 1% are Atheists. Considering the high rate of recidivism by US felons, I think that statistic says a lot. And I'm not even an Atheist.

Judgmental, Hell-fire Christians are throwers of stones in glass homes. I'm not talking about good Christian folks, just those that would be offended by my statement.

Actually, I think that the those same "Christians" would hate anyone who didn't think like they did. That's the problem with religious fanatics-they fear everything.

Atheists bring to light the possibility that God simply doesn't exist and this idea frightens them. If God doesn't exist then their entire worlds are shattered.

I personally find the idea of being an Atheist a little sad and lonely. While I don't have all of the answers-neither do self proclaimed Christians-I would rather believe in the possibility of his/hers existence and enjoy the company of my Atheist friends. They keep life interesting.

i understnd that you're in a perplexing project with prayer. in case you prefer to wish to God because you imagine that that's critical because you're incorrect then one could pray with faith that you're going to recieve an answer. I pray hoping that i visit recieve an answer and that i'm getting one. also i do no longer imagine that asking God to illustrate you the way will ensue as you anticipate. when I pray I ask first if what i'm doing is ideal and also if I actually have a idea about doing some thing else I ask if it quite is the right area of do. you may ask God actually in case you're on direction by ability of attempting to wish. I actually have continuously recieved solutions at the same time as i'm quite honest when I pray, yet also i desire that i visit recieve an answer. God gained't merely coach you, you may coach God first that you've desire or faith in God. Ask and ye shall recieve, knock and that's going to be opened unto you.

Actually, I don't think very many Atheists are taught to dislike Christians. Now this doesn't mean no atheist dislikes Christians, some do (often because of Christians being jerks to them, not because of their parents) but many (like me) get along with Christians fine. However, Christians often times do think they're supperior to atheists or smarter than them or just feel like they have to either shun them at all costs or be as mean as possible to them. It's sad, but true.

christians are taught anyone who is not in thier sect is bad. I know this from experience. my aunt and blood mother wont speak to each other because both are christians that beleive the other sects are going to hell.

christians, as a rule, wont be up front with you and they will try to dance around the issue. they assume if you dont have God you dont have morals. but look in the bible. the Bible God was a hypocrite that killed babies and animals! innocent creatures! and some christians are so twisted they say babies are not innocent!! isnt that just sick?

Lots of Chrsitians are raised to think that all the people who think differently from them are immoral "sinners" that will end up in Hell. It might also be the fright of hearing what they categorize as "blasphemy", whereas we see nothing wrong with saying some things. Our moral code was not dictated to us by a religious tyrant, it is made up by ourselves to make us happier citizens of the world.

How many times have I been preached to, again? How many times have people condemned me to the depths of Hell? Too often for it to still remotely be funny. The thing is, it doesn't scare me or intimidate me, contrarily to what they seem to think. I don't believe in what they do, end of story.
