is that what you would call, strengthening your faith on the basis that others are gullible enough to believe what you preach? or is this just spritual charity?

No, I would consider it arrogance.

I don't think it is weak - I think it is not true that any religion is better than any other and I think it is the height of rudeness for someone to assume that theirs is better than mine and then have the nerve to tell me why.

I think that when you come upon someone who is down and out - someone who is struggling with life's issues and they either have no spiritual support of beliefs (or the religion they have is not helping them) could be much benefited by your telling them how you deal with these issues - how your religion guides you toward the resolution of your problems and how you feel comfort in the tenet of it's teaching.

I think if people see you and say "You always seem so happy - what's your secret?" that might be the time to mention how happy you are with your faith. But it's a conversation that needs to be handled less life and death and more like a recommendation. We get recommendations all the time (for insurance, mortgage, shampoo - everything) and some we take and some we don't. No problem. You are not going to hell because you don't smoke the same cigarettes as me and you are not going to hell because you don't subscribe to the same belief in god as me.

Live and let live. Peace!

Not all religion is wright for all people, It takes all kinds, If a puzzle had all the same pieces, it would be borring, extremly difficult to put pieces togeather if all are the same, differences in religion is something to talk about, this way it is discussed, If all were the same it would be like the Stepford wives movie, if you remember they werent really happy. It is not weak, just the oppisite it strengthens your beliefs, you just might save someone.
I see that there are many roads to heaven some are long and winding some are interstates, However as long as we all believe in the One God all is good

Hun it's not weak, guillible, or misguided to share something like your faith as long as it isn't satanism, to others if it feels that passionate to you. Other Religions do this all the time. So others out there shouldn't try to front. Buddism is slick with theirs, they pratice this with martial arts and other oriental practices. Hinduism is more of a traditional or territorial religion. Christianity is faith based and yes to me it's the best one, but to each it's own. For me I've tried Christianity or God and I've found it to work for me. To have a person lay down his life when he didn't have too, just because he loved us all even our flaws and then rose again to prove to all he is the man and too protect me and provide for me when i don't know when or where the next dollar or the next meal is comign from is just awesome. I would share that with whoever will listen and hun there are going to be some out there that won't listen to you, but then there are going to be some that will. For me I am not ashamed to say I love the Lord and I pray that others would too and that they need too because I feel passionate about my faith. Millions upon Millions of other Chrisitans couldn't be wrong about the same thing. So hun share your faith it's what makes u you.

No.
Who are you talking about?
If someone has the courage to put their money where their mouth is, and seek out people(who might be looking for answers),to share their faith with, what weakness is there in that?
Is it not weaker to arbitrarily lump any with a belief together, not recognizing the massive differences of how ,where and what, is being presented?
Isn't it weak to try and convince us that people of religion are weak?
You preacher you!

I think that engaging debate is strengthening for all of those who debate, but preaching is a sign of weakness. You don't trust your beliefs enough to put them on a one-on-one "fight" and so simply say, "this is what the Bible says, it's true!" and don't say another thing, except maybe a few, "hallelujahs!" or "Amens!"

Well the bible is 1/3 prophecy. 200 were fullfilled about Jesus alone. Tell me, what other sacred book can prophesize like The Holy Bible? I just think that the bible has better support in its scripture and from science who has discovered many names, cities from the bible who were thought to be myths. The Bible is unique above all.

I call it trying to cram your beliefs down someone elses throats. Everyone has their own mind, opinions, and beliefs. Therefore...I can choose for myself what I believe in. I don't need someone else trying to tell me that the are right and that they're better than me because they believe this or that. If they were better than me...they would respect my beliefs.

Weak, no, but if someone asked me about my religion, I would answer any questions, and leave it up to them whether they believed it or not, I would not try to convince them; that is something they have to discover for themselves.

You can try to convince people that you think your religion is right but if you're gonna do it in a way that demeans them and their own beliefs, it's unacceptable for me.

i don't know if its weakness but it definitly shows an insecurity in your religion when you have to try and prove everyone else wrong and that your religion is the only supreme one
