Because YOU ARE a goody 2 shoes. No disprespect, but If thats not a goody 2 shoes, what is??? I would never encourage or condone illegal underage drinking, but peer pressure is what made America great. People who don't drink when those around them do are correctly suspected of having a snotty, bettter-than-everyone-else attitude. Get over yourself. I'm no doctor, but I'd guess that your Crohns will probably go away if you just loosened up and a had a few cocktails once in a while. Besides, everybody is funnier and more attractive when you're drunk. Maybe if you drank you could get a boyfriend, at least for the night.

I am a teen and I don't drink b/c I have seen what it does to people. It makes people act stupid and can potenially kill someone (drunk driving). I rather be a goody 2 shoes than be puking on the sidewalk and waking up and not remembering the night before. Alcohol is offered openly to teens, like me, by parents, older friends and older siblings. Tolerence is saying no because you know its wrong. Stupidity is accepting alcohol because you want to "fit in" or "look cool". People will offer you drinks before you even get close to the age. The Lord will test us by doing this. I hope you pass your next test.

It has to do with society and culture. The majority of young people are influenced by tv and movies--being "cool" means you must drink alcohol. Plus, they are in a hurry to grow up and leave all traces and appearances of childhood behind. To them, those who drink (or have teen sex for that matter) have passed into a new phase. The funny thing is, many teens who think drinking is cool eventually realize years down the road what idiots they were to have that attitude. If you are a teen and find yourself being pressured to drink, try to hang in there, and stick up for what you believe. Seek out and surround yourself with people who have similar values as you do so you do not feel so alone. Those who refuse to follow the crowd in doing wrong are frequently in the minority and have their character come under fire. It is through these difficult times that one needs to hang in there and persevere. Look at the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a leader in the civil rights movement, trying to peacefully put an end to racism and promote equal rights for blacks. The majority of whites in the nation was against him. I know this strays away from your original question, but I am using Dr. King as an example of one with honorable character who stood up for doing the right thing in the face of wrong.

well cause they just don't understand that some people can't drink because of medical conditions, take me for example, i got gout and any type of booze of any kind, triggers a super painful arthritic inflammation, so i know what it's like to be excluded from drinking, but hey don't listen to them, just laugh at them when there puking there guts out and feeling like crap the next morning, because being a teen is hard enough.

They are only trying to make you feel bad because they are jealous because they are not strong enough to stand up for themselves the way you did. They think that it makes them cool because everyone else is doing it. Actually it is more cool to be different. Stand up for what you believe in.

I'm going to deviate a bit from what everyone else has said even though I do not believe they are incorrect. People who are sober hate people who are drinking or drunk. People who are drinking or drunk hate people who are sober. It's that simple.

I think it is good that you choose not to drink. people are just weird and put teens thru lots of peer pressure. its not cool to throw up, get sick, or wreck and kill people. good for you to choose on your own not to drink!!! ignore them, but I know its hard. they still repeat it lol.

Mainly because they haven't got enough sense to quit drinking they try to coherse you into joining them. Ever hear of the one that goes... "Sticks and stones.........."? No truer words were ever spoken but beer and whiskey sure as hell can.
