Are you or any Christians you know and love have "Support the Troops" on your vehicle?

If he could have, would Jesus have Support the Roman Troops on his staff?

Do you think Jesus would approve of supporting a military force that is killing men, women and children (collateral damage?), Agent Oranging Villages in Vietnam. Do you think he approves of your sticker?

To: tchrwnnb,
You say Jesus "tell us to "render unto Ceaser the things which are Ceaser's." And to obey those that are in authority over us, because God has placed them in authority over us."

If you lived in Nazi Germany and Gassing jews was the Govt. order....would you flip the switch on some jews?

You say: "yes, me and all of my christian friends support the troops. Even God called for a time for war."

I noticed, and the Biblical God favored those who ordered to kill all the men and women who are not virgins...but keep all the virgins for yourself as a trophy! Are you sure you wanna open up the old testament?

Depends on your and their definition of the term Christian? Everyone who calls themselves a Christian is not Christ’s disciple. But from a Biblical perspective, I would think that Messiah would have been more likely to support one of the many Israeli insurgent rag tag armies, like the one that finally rose up against the emperor in 70 ad and resulted in the destruction of Jerusalem and the loss of their country, than that of the occupying Roman Army. As an interesting aside, some scholars believe that Barabbus, the man who was released by Pilate, instead of Messiah by the vote of the people, was a leader of such a group of anti- Roman insurrectionist, and not just a common criminal. That the Messiah supported neither worldly army or supported any earthy kingdom and preached against violence, would cause you to think these facts alone would give the modern right wing, patriotic, Bush supporting, Jingoistic American Christians a clue, but they remain clueless and will till the Anti-Christ deceives them fully.

Yep, I have a support the troops sticker. I am an incredibly patriotic person, I love my country and I am depply grateful for the sacrifice that our troops are making every day.

I don't believe Jesus would have had a sticker on His staff. He did however, tell us to "render unto Ceaser the things which are Ceaser's." And to obey those that are in authority over us, because God has placed them in authority over us.

Don't be so ignorant! A sticker that says"Support our Troops" doesn't mean you have to support the cause or the leaders of our country. It is only a show of support of our fellow American men and women who have been sent to fight., regardless of how you feel regarding the conflict . And regarding the whole Nazi statement you dumb bastard, the Vatican at the time of the rise of Nazi power had agreements with Hitler and Mussolini to try to save its own ***, the Catholic church knew EXACTLY what the Nazis were doing and didn't do or say anything, until it was too late, and the only reason the church did say something wasn't out of concern for those who fell victim to the Nazi's, it was to attempt to clear it's association with them

yes, me and all of my christian friends support the troops. Even God called for a time for war.

Numbers 31:3
So Moses said to the people, "Arm some of your men to go to war against the Midianites and to carry out the Lord's vengeance on them.

Exodus 17:16
He said, "For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The [ Or "Because a hand was against the throne of the LORD, the ] LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."

Also, although war is a bloody and horrible thing, but God allows us to defend ourselves when necessary.

Exodus 22:2
"If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed;

The troops are not guilty of murder if they are defending themselves, as the above scripture points out.

Yes I do, so does my husband. Jesus said "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's" Matthew 22:21 Which many people take to mean that you should support your government.

Regardless, supporting the troops does not mean you favor the war but support the people who are doing what their government asks them to do.

Thank you Basscatcher and all the other brave men and women who have risked and given their lives for the rest of us. God Bless!

They keep in mind that the civilian organizations do not care about the protection rigidity workers that worked, fought, and infrequently sacraficed existence, or limb(s) in order that as that grasping businessman could have his/her freedom.

To those who claim to be Christian (followers of Christ, correct?):

Didn't Jesus command that you 'love your enemy as yourself?'

A government has an obligation to protect itself from those who would threaten to dissolve it or harm its citizens. However, this principle flies in the face of Christianity, if the above statement by Jesus has any resonance with a Christian. A government soldier who is willing to take the lives of other people cannot, by definition, be Christian. Yes, being willing to protect your country is commendable, but not Christian. Old Testament thinking is NOT what Jesus taught - read your Bible.

Yes I am a Christian and Yes I support our troops, because without them THIS WOULD BE NAZI GERMANY and I may be forced to throw the switch on gas chamber. But by this day and age there wouldn't be any Jews and Hitler would have started on us Christian's that opposed him. GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS

Yep, I support the troops. God blessed this country and if our troops are involved in something then it is my responsiblity as an American to support them...if I don't agree with the government, then it's my responsiblity to work towards a change; and in that work towards change I would still support our troops, our soldiers, our boys (and girls) who are out there laying it on the line.
