Firstly, it is genetic.
when a person consumes/eats more than the required calories, it is converted into fats and fat is stored on shoulders,belly, thighs, hands, neck, etc,etc.
if a person eats one chapathi/roti, with ghee[just one tsp], it gives 200 calories of energy, with one tsp of oil it gives 100 calories of energy, without oil, it gives 50 calories of energy, one should realise what one takes and its calorific value then only one should plan one's own diet.
sweets, milk, butter and ghee, rice, are rich sources of energy

It's all about genetics. Women tend to gain weight around the hips and thighs. Men tend to gain weight around the stomach.

I'm not sure, but I think genetics play a big role in how a person's body gains weight.

If you are a cigarette smoker? you can change the gentic change in your fatty tissues,and some times cause changes in your weight gain in differant parts of your body.Then there are drugs that can cause less muscle movement problems , so attention was shifted to other issues.
