Not trying to be mean, I just want an answer, that I am searching for. If god knows all and is all good, and we should worship all that is said, then why would he decide to kill everone on this earth except Noah and his family b cuz we were bad. If he knew that we were gonna be bad, then he was having fun with watching thousands of people die!. Wouldnt that be a mass murderer..... much like Hitler? Not only murder but one of the 7 deadly sins, ENVY. Thou shalt not worship another god for I am a JEALOUS god. My whole point is.... I believe in God, But I DO NOT believe or trust the Bible. B cuz if it is right then we are all wrong.

Some of the commandments that apply to us do not apply to God. Everybody dies, but you have to die to go to heaven. And you're right. The Bible is right and we are wrong. We are wrong in our sins, and only the blood of Christ can make us right.

"14What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15For he says to Moses,
"I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."[f] 16It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. 17For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."[g] 18Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

19One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" 20But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "[h] 21Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

22What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?"

Romans 9:14-24

Thanks to God's grace by giving his only Son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross, we do not have to experience God's wrath. Jesus paid the price for us with his blood.

Ok...God flooded the Earth and saved Noah because Noah believed....and God knew that Noah would be the only one who believed. He was not having fun...it hurt him deeply..and thats why we have the rainbow as a promise from God that he would never do that again....and he has kept his promise! And God is perfect and said it is wrong for us to evny...God does not evny the other gods that people worship, or envy us...but wants us to worship him! But yet...still gives us free will!

Genesis 6: 5-8 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

I suppose if you want to look at the above scripture that way, you can, but that's not what I see. I see perhaps millions of people, every single one of them wicked .... not just some, but ALL of them wicked, except for one man. And for that one man, God did not destroy the entire earth, He did not simply implode the earth and end things right there. Rather, He made a way for that one man and his family to survive, deciding to keep His creation for the sake of one man.

Now that's Love.

Man's sins were so bad the very stench of reached heaven. God also destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the same reason. Homosexuality, drinking, gluttony, fornication, you name it. God knew this would infect all mankind if it wasn't dealt with.
Noah found grace in God's eyes and was righteous and obedient. Would anyone you know waste 1/6th of their lifetime building an ark?

if this is truly bothering you, you need to realize some things about the bible. the old testament in particular was written by people, in another language and translated a lot of ways over the years. God did not sit down with a pen and ink and write this down as is. It was compiled by Jewish people during a time when humans were crude, stupid and cruel, and had mixed notions about God and how to treat each other and themselves. You can believe God inspired the writing through people, or spoke through the writers, but most Jewish scholars will tell you that the stories of the old testament are parables or stories to set examples for people. they are not meant to be taken as exact history, though historical events and places are talked about in it. do you think there was really a talking snake and an apple? or was that a popular story of creation at the time that the Jewish people used as an example of human.s weakness to the temptation of evil? I'm not telling you to not believe the bible. but don't be upset by the stories in the old testament. humans wrote them for good reasons: to give humankind guidelines for being good and healthy people in God's sight. Did God write it? if so, it was through flawed people's scribbling He tried to get His message across. ...remember, people were simple and crude, and they would worship all sorts of gods for all sorts of reasons, sometimes with sacrifices and unhealthy rituals. if you were God and wanted to teach people who were that simple and confused to not do that, you would probably find threatening them with jealousy would get better results than being reasonable. People who wrote the bible (for God) worked from that point of view to reach and change as many people as they could. I'm sure there are tons of people who would be very upset at this interpretation of the bible, but they will probably be mostly Christians, and they forget the Christians didn't have anything to do with the old testament in the first place, since they didn't exist at the time it was written. think about this. see if any of it makes sense and can help you reconcile your belief in God with your conflict with the scriptures. good luck and be happy.

I dont know why do you trust the God of the bible and the Jesus of the bible? The God of the bible is a hypocritical jerk kinda like the christians that follow and adore him.

Sometimes things happen, that are so horrible, that is best to blame God. That way, if we complain, and he hears us, he can change things. The flood you mentioned was like that. And he did say he was sorry, and promised he'd never do it again.

When plagues hit Egypt, Pharaoh claimed the credit. He died, and lies in the dust.

When plagues hit Egypt, Moses gave credit to (blamed) God. And he lives with God.

Because, God is the one who created us. He wants our time, affection, everything. He's a God of mercy and grace. Remember, He didn't have to spare Noah. It could have wiped everything and one out. He is merciful, yet He is also the judge..

God is perfectly good, and He is also perfectly fair and just. The Flood was a judgment on the wicked, and a prefiguration of the coming judgment by fire.

The flood was doubtless an early experiment in baptism.
