I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, have you seen some of the screen names Yahoo allows the members to have? That alone is enough to ban my kids from this and I haven't even started on some of the questions that get posted. And who cares about being able to report something as abuse. In a matter of seconds, inappropriate questions have already had their effect on kids probably on the site just looking for homework help. Horrible. Yahoo needs to install a language monitor so if a question has certain words, it is reviewed before it is posted.

I just looked at that site. I agree this site is awful. Its teaching Kids to think atheists are bad and will lash out at them. That other religions are all wrong I see there making an example of the Hindu religion. Telling kids there gonna perish if they don't believe. Its not teaching love and how to love people what ever there difference. Its so narrow minded. this website should defiantly not be shown to kids. Its all wrong. Kids shouldn't be pushed in to it they should be allowed to choose what they wanna beleive for them selfs.

The best thing would be for parents not to try to push religion on kids at all. Let them decide for themselves when they have reached an age where they can legitimately weigh all sides of the argument and make a choice on what THEY believe, not what they are TOLD to believe. No, I'm not holding my breath on that one either..
Biblical Truths <--- oxymoron
(sorry... couldn't resist)

to be totally honest, yes, this is a good place for teens to find answers to question that they are scared to ask a parent, most advice i give is to have the courage to talk to their parent. and it is up to the parent to say if they should be allowed to access this site. but there should be a parental control to keep check on what they see or do on any part of the internet.

No. It's a discussion forum for adults and as such it has to permit subjects and language that parents would rightly deem unsuitable for children.
As for intolerance, my view is that people deserve respect but ideas and beliefs do not, so it's perfectly OK to discuss, criticise and even ridicule beliefs, as long as that does not extend to personal attacks.

I agree totally with you.
You should contact Yahoo Answers, and ask them to give a parental warning, or something against this site.
This is definately not suitable for children.

I monitor all my children's websites and I would only allow our church website to be accessed in regards to religion. Especially if I were unsure if it were teaching Biblical truths.

It's laughable. At first, I really had a hard time convincing myself it wasn't all just a terribly lame joke.
And the 'Creationism & Science' facts? That is sick. It just goes to show how little sense it all makes.
It's most definetely not appropriate for children.

Most questions seem fine for kids to be seeing. But, it's the parents that are in control of their kids, so they make the calls, not me.
