Go to a professional! I mean, you obviously don't know what you are doing (you sound like me) and I know that frosting and coloring your hair WRECKS it.

There should be a phone number on the box to call for assistance from the companies product that you used.

My hair is dark brown almost black with gray too. just lightening all over is usually the best for our darker hard the first couple of times i had to use a light blonde to just get light brown. around the face i used super sun in . but continually lightening instead of staying the natural color is really really hard on the hair and really more noticeable when it grows out than when the gray does.

You probably didn't leave it on long enough. Get a bottle of drabber.
Drug store or beauty supply will have it. Follow instructions for a drabber bath. You will have to get some 20 volumn hydrogen peroxyde to mix it. Get the cream 20 vol. (I think it is by L'oreal). It works best. The drabber tones down the yellow to give it a more ashen tone. Condition really well for the next couple of weeks. I have very fine blonde hair and I've done it many times to tone down high yellow and brassy tones when I've used coloring. Good luck!!!

Your hair probably just lifts "hot" meaning it lifts to a yellow/orange color.. you need to go to sally's and get a toner with lots of violet or blue in it. These colors will combat the warm tones and end up giving you a blond color. Ask the girlies at the counter to get you a good one, use 10 or 20 volume developer depending on the color you finally decide on. Good luck!

You have to have the naturally dark color stripped from your hair professionally if you want a lighter hair color and to get a natural look. I always get an orange-y hair color when I try to go lighter on my own. It's expensive that way, but what can we do?

You can purchase a toner and apply to all of your hair and it works wonderful. I messed my hair up before with frost and tip as well. I ran for the toner and it fixed it perfectly.

I would go to a salon and visit a proffesional. Or go get a better type of dye from a beauty supply store.

Either dye is a permanent dark brown shade close to your shade, or get a temporary dye until you can go to a professional.

If you just did this, wash your hair with dish washing soap. Have no idea if it really works but have heard that suggestion before. Can't hurt to try!
