my boyfriend has brain tumor.. his younger brother has leukemia once but now has recovered

cancer is not hereditory

the vast majority of cancers have an environmental cause and not a genetic cause. Ie the toxins in our environments (smoking, smog, pesticides, chemicals) cause more cancers than genetics. That said, genes can predispose one to developing particular cancers when combined with certain environmental factors.

Not entirely. Those with tumors and/or cancer tend to have a predisposition to it. It doesn't mean it neccessarily runs in the family.

genes can affect cancer but isnt the only cause

could be where they live too... exposure to carcinogens can have an effect.
