I take it you are referring to 1 Kings 7:23. Well let's consider this section, but let's look at the Hebrew.

In the text there is what would appear to be one of the few copy errors in the original text, a heh (h) is added to the Hebrew word for circumference(qav), the text says qaveh.

One must understand that Hebrew uses letters as numbers, each letter has a numerical value. If you consider that the heh (h) added to qav is not a copy error but a continuation of the number you will find that the circumference is calculated as 47.12264150943 which is different from modern computer calculations by less than 15 thosandths of an inch.

Yes, the Bible is infallible.

In the original languages as given to the original Scribes... yes those works were infallible... The Bibles we have today are very much fallable... They have been fiddled with by fallable men for centuries. BUT... The Word and Will of God is still preserved for us and can be found by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide. That is my Christian Faith
I use the Authorized King James Version(KJV) and with reservation recomend the New American Standard Bible (updated)(NASB) In english translations I would not recomend any others.... avoid like the plague the mess called The Message.

edit note: none of the original text exist in this day. ALL have been lost.

An ellipse is circular in shape. So is a square if you bevel the corners. Hell, a star can be a circle if you connect the points with a piece of string. Remember, 1600 or so years after that writing, everyone still thought the world was flat... and I almost drove off the road when I found out Santa Claus was a sham...

I found the answer to this one on a website called www.drdino.com. The Bible gives you the correct value of pie if you measure it from the inside of the circle not including the thickness of the wall.

You're talking about cubits, right...? The length from a man's elbow to his middle finger, right...? And you expect one guy to measure the diameter and another guy to measure the circumference, and you expect to get the value of pi to a bazillion decimal places, right..? Watch for that middle finger, pal...!

Probably not much. The concept of Pi is not of any consequence to the salvation of one's soul.

I'm not going to crack open a Bible...but I will say that it was written by men, not God.
