It is a bad thing, by mounting the unit on the side, the oil in the compressor will displace and will no longer be able to lubricate the compressor. If there is no oil in the compressor, the compressor will fail.

Bad Idea. With this the refrigirant will not flow properly and will permenantly damage the compressor.

yes it is,the drainage is gonna run back in to the unit ,or run back in your house,then again,if it runs back in the unit,, it may short it out,,be carefull.
