I own a blue and gold mccaw and his nose will start to run if there is to much smoke in the house (unfortunately i smoke and have to keep him across the room when I do. He also has a runny nose when pollen is high. Birds can have allergies just like humans. Is he eating normally? If he is then that rules out sickness (most of the time not always). The best thing to do is to take him to the vet and get a full blood panel done just to make sure. Good luck!!

Wet nostrils usually indicate that a bird has a cold. If it has labored, squeaky breathing then it could have other respiratory infections. Try to get it to the vet. In the meantime, keep it warm (if possible in a hospital cage) away from wind, dust etc.

It could be that he has an infection or simply a cold. Only a Vet. can order a blood analysis and let you know if there is an infection and prescribe antibiotics. Do not ignore the problem either problem can kill him if not taken care.
