I was told to put regular sugar in a blender and let it blend on high for a few seconds. I tried it it does seem to make it very closely..but I am wondering if there is anything thing else should be added to it, like corn starch! or what? There has been times when I am baking something and suddenly realized I don't have any powder sugar here, so this seems to be a solution, without having to go out and get some.

Nope, no corn starch, unless you're powdering doughnuts. Just blend it or use a food processor.

I find a coffee grinder on a food processor works the best. It comes out like a fine powder.

i watched it being made on an infomercial for some company i couldn't remember. at that time, we only got three channels and it was more for background noise. anyways, they just put it in the food processor they had to show it could do just that...turn regular granulated sugar into powdered sugar. they didnt add cornstarch to it.

Besides putting it through the blender, sift it with a small strainer or colander, and keep the bigger granules aside. That way, you can only use the real and very pulverized powder... I do that.
