Although I've never dated my friends, I know some people who have. And they're relationship didn't turn out so good because they missed the relationship they had as friends. Dating messed up that relationship and when they broke up, they never talked to each other again. So I'm asking, do you think it's ok to date your friend?

I know who you're thinking of and personally, I don't think that you should ever date your friends. If the the relationship goes south, not only do you have to deal with the consequences, but it puts other mutual friends in an awkward position. They have to decide who they would rather hang around with, and they can't help but feel that someone was the victim in the breakup.

I didn't want to date my best friend who I knew wanted to, but when I finally did, I realized just why he was my best friend, he always knew what I wanted and needed even when I wouldn't know. We just celebrated our three year wedding anniversary on Tuesday and I could never imagine my life without him. Yes, you may miss some things about just being friends, but it is that way for most any relationship. I can tell him anything and he knows everything there is to know about me, and I am so in love with him!

To be completely honest with you, if you were really good friends to begin with than you should be able to still be friends after a relationship. If you knew them as well as you thought before you sarted dating then a relationship shouldn't be that hard for the both of you. But if you didn't then you're in for some surprises, but like I said if you were really good friends to begin with than you break up shouldn't be that hard. That's if it came down to that.

well it depends how you feel about your friend. If there is a spark there and you smile when you see them and smile when you think about them and your heart beats faster and you get butterflys ....then you should definatly date them. But if you dont have romantic feelings for them dont go out with them because one day you will meet someone you do have romantic feelings for and end up breaking your freinds heart. Its far better to have a good friend for the rest of your life than ex.

there is only one way to find out really.. try it for yourself.

Some people who dates their own best friend ended up being together while some lose the friendship. But there is only one way really, and that takes guts!

Ultimately, when you are serious, you want your mate to be your best friend. So to answer your question, yes, date your friend and if it doesnt turn out "right" its because you all werent great friends in the first place.

My experience is that if you really value your friendship don't do it. If things do not work out between the two of you, the friendship that you had before will never be the same.

Hey, you never know about something unless you've tried it once. I say go for it! If it does turn out bad at least you learned something from it. Don't regret not dating him. Good-Luck!
