My dogs were the same way get some dog treats if you have long pieces of jerky dog treats rip them and make a trail if the dog treat is in kibble lay it out in the trail you WANT THEM TO GO slowly over time make the pieces more far from each other until you only have to use 2 pieces (starting and end)
Mental Note: if you have more than 1 dog you might want to walk them individually or seperate the naughty ones.

Buy you dogs each a "Gentle Leader". Most Humane Societies have them. This is a strange looking collar/mask. Be sure to put it on correctly. Once on, the leash attaches under the jaw. When your dog pulls, his/her head will be forced to turn and just like a horse, they will either stop or walk the way the head points.
There are many benefits of this Gentle Leader. Some believe that the pressure points right behind the ears are affected by the gentle leader, calming the dog as well.
Be sure to bring your dog with to make sure you have the correct size and fit. Dogs usually go crazy and hate it at first, but stick it out and don't give in to them. They will be walking with the leash in no time if you stick with it.

I would try repetition. Put their leash on and try to take them on a short walk every day, they will get used to the leash as they go and eventually be able to use a leash all the time. And whenever they listen and do just what you say- reward them with a treat, then they'll keep doing it. I hope I could help :D
And if worst comes to worst- bring your dog to Petco or Petsmart and they can help train it.

Keep your dog right by your side on a short leash.
Walk him back and forth. Each time you start or turn to walk back use the command heel.Be consistant.
To teach him to sit pull up on the leash and push his rear end to the floor as you use the command sit. repeat these things and the dog will learn. remember to keep him right at your side at all times. Give the dog phrase when it does the right thing each time so it knows you are pleased.
Your dog wants to please you but it must know when you are pleased. use the same method when house breaking.

get yourself a decent choke collar. put it on the dog so that the choke comes down on the dog's right side, your left, if you're standing next to the dog.
get a nylon lead.
put your dog on the lead and keep it short. have him stand next to you for a minute, or so, without moving. then you say "let's go", or something easy. and start to walk. the minute your dog starts to pull, jerk him up. then stand still again and start over.
when you start to walk, walk very quickley with the lead short. go about twenty feet and turn and go the opposite direction. keep it quick. and EVERYTIME he pulls, jerk him up.
walking very quickly makes him have to walk and not think about wanting to do his own thing and be the boss...
in many ways it's an "alpha" thing when he pulls. he doesn't respect you as the alpha in that situation. it's up to you to make clear the difference!
do that for about ten minutes at a time two or three, if you can, times a day. be consistent. start going longer distances before you turn around. reward him everytime he can do a complete up and back without pulling.
always use a firm voice. if you get frustrated, shorten the time and build up to longer periods...but never yell at the dog...firm, consistent voice....
have a special treat for lesson time. maybe a pocketful of nuked hotdog pieces or something he isn't used to. use that treat only for learning. no other time!
good luck!

You might think this is cruel (most people do..what do they know!), but if your dog is really giving you a hard time walking on a leash...buy a choke collar.
The way ot works is like this...if your dog happens to pull away from you, the choke collar will close, cutting his breathing, he will soon stop pulling so hard, and the collar will loosen up again.
Soon he will learn his distance, and will follow you wherever you go without pulling away.
As I said, most people don't like this option because they think it's inhumane, and horrible, but think about this...if you're walking attached to someone, and you start to pull away, and your neck starts to get tighter...what do you think you would do? EXACTLY!
After walking for a week or so with this collar, you can go back to your normal collar, but I bet you they won't pull so hard anymore.

I tried a training course and it didn't help. i did everything they suggested (gave a treat when the dog pulled and then came back) but it never worked. Finally I got a choaker coller and it is great. the thing is, you have to keep your dog right next to you most of the time, and give a little jerk on the coller if they try and pull. Pretty soon they will know where you want them to be. If your dog is pulling you it thinks it is pack leader, so you have to show it who's boss.

Go to the pet store & buy a choker chain. It is not like normal chokers though, it is pronged all the way around the neck. It is safer than the old style chokers. When you pull on the leash, the prongs dig in a little bit.
If you take your dog to the pet store, they will properly fit your dog with a collar.
We did it for our dog (who is 85 lbs of pure muscle) & he knows that when that collar is on, he better remain at my side.
Good Luck!
