Do long distance relationships usually work?

i live in mississippi and my girl lives in miami, do you think its gonna work out, i mean we are both really faithful to each other, i love her, but are things gonna work out?

how do you know she is being faithful? she can say anything being so far away. i was in this situation before so i know how it goes.

they never usually work out because there are so many issue's. just take everything she says with a pinch of salt and keep an open mind.............and heart!

If you have to ask if it's going to work out, you already have doubts, and you already know the answer to this question. I never had much luck with long distance relationships. There are too many issues to deal with in a long-distance relationship, and when you can't deal with those issues face-to-face on a daily basis, it just becomes too difficult. Sooner or later you (or your girlfriend) are going to get tired of the distance between you, tired of the fact that you can't always be there for each other, tired of the fact that you can't be together to celebrate special occasions, the list goes on and on. I started doing the long-distance thing with my high school boyfriend when we went off to college. It's almost ten years later and we are still together. If you ask me, being apart helps you stay together because you never fight. When you're together, the time is so precious and exciting, it keeps the relationship going. But it will only work if you are both loyal people and not likely to cheat if you are apart for a while. I also recommend phone sex.

You are the only one that can make it work. From what I've seen, long distance relationships usually dont work out. With distance separating two people, it usually pulls them apart emotionally too. Don't get me wrong, some people can make it work. It takes two really strong people to hold together a long distance relationship.

It works only if the people in the relationship want it to and are willing to do anything, ANYTHING, to see the othjer person. I tried it. One of us didnt want it to work out so we broke it off, but if you love her and she loves you, it will definately work. Promise. You are going to run into obstacles and times where you are going to want to just let go and go on with life, but DONT. No matter what, you cant give up or even think about it or it wont work out. Tell your girl that she needs to do the same and promise with all her heart to stay loyal to you and love you no matter what happens. Stay in contact: call, IM, send letters; Emails, anything. I think if two people are really in love it will work if it is 25 miles or 2,500 miles! Long distance relationships will work they may take longer but if your happy in the long run it is all worth it! Because i dated someone who was almost 4,600 miles away! It did not work out but were still friends! So yes i think it can work!

yes, I think it is going to work. My boyfriend is moving and I am kind of really upset about it. We are going to try the long distance realationship thing and hope it woks. I have had them before and they seem to work. Do think that my and my boyfriend are going to last?

I have never had much luck with long distance relationships. BUT do not get discouraged if you love her write her, email her and if you can afford to travel or have her travel do it. Love is strange it may be true love or it may fizzle but you have to try, don't give up.
