My son is 6' 2" and was at 350, so I know for a fact you are definitely overweight. Here are my suggestions. NO FAST FOOD< NO SODAS OF ANY SORT> DRINK WATER ONLY> NO PASTA< NO BREAD>NO POTATOES> NO RICE>NO SWEETS OR BAKERY ITEMS, NO FRUITS ALL OF THESE ARE CARBOHYDRATES AND TURN TO SUGAR IN YOUR BODY..ALL CEREALS ARE CARBOHYDRATES . Try the Adkins diet for a while, it will get your weight loss cranked up. You can have most all veggies, meats, hard cheeses, eggs, bacon, sausage. Once you get the carbohydrates out of your system you will stop craving them. If you go to a fast food place order a big salad and burger with cheese and throw away the bread, no french fries and water only. This will crank up your weight loss quickly, but don't cheat, its a chemical thing and cheating interrupts the losing chemistry. Good Luck!!

It depends on your specific dietary needs, level of activity, food intolerances, etc. However, when I was dieting to lose weight, here is what I would typically eat:

Immediately after waking up - hot water with lemon
Breakfast - wheat- and gluten-free muesli with soy milk and natural (unsweetened) fat free yogurt
Lunch - salad with mixed vegetables, toasted seeds and olive oil
Snack - two wheat- and gluten-free crackers with natural peanut butter
Dinner - homemade vegetable soup OR lentils and brown rice

During the day I drank only water or herbal tea. I completely eliminated wheat, gluten, meat, dairy (except natural yogurt with probiotics), processed sugars, vinegar, caffeine, alcohol and vegetables from the nightshade family (tomatos, peppers, eggplant, etc). In two months I lost 20 pounds. After that I slowly started re-introducing foods in moderation, but I continue to eat extremely healthy. You should look into books about the macrobiotic diet. I recommend Dr. Joshi's Holistic Detox (the plan I followed).

You can eat almost everything if you use moderation. Drink plenty of water, drink skim milk , substitute sugar for products like Splenda, eliminate sodas and try to avoid fatty foods. But, do not eliminate fats totally. They are necessary for your body. extra virgin olive oil is excellent. Remember, moderation is the key to success.
