Stick to what the vet's 'scrip says- Predisone is a powerful medication, and may need to be prescribed at different levels to treat different problems. Too much can produce a syndorm (intaragenic Cushings) that can kill or cause organ damage.

You should NOT give any without veterinary advice/supervision. This is a serious steroid and must be used with caution. I wouldn't give it to any of my pets without a blood profile being done first. Animals must be given this at the correct dosage and weaned off of it - anything else can result in severe medical problems and death. Only a qualified veterinarian who has your dog's medical history, has examined it and has a proper weight on the dog can answer this question.

I think you are referring to PREDNISONE. Stop immediately. This is a steroid. Unless it is prescribed by your dog's veterinarian. If it is follow the directions explicitly. This drug has many adverse reactions. Please keep it in a cool dark place in a safe container and away from where pets or children can get to it!
