1 carry on per person... no weight limit. I assume you would have common knowledge that it can't be like over 50 pounds.

You can take two carry-ons onto a plane. One person can take on two things. One is the personal item ( a back pack or a purse) and the other is a carry on ( a small suite case or over night bag). There isn't a weight limit but there is a size limit. This is all i know sorry about that. I hope you find what you are looking for if I didn't help.

That depends on the type of aircraft you are travelling:
1. Boeing 747/Airbus 320 category aircrafts: The medium size hand bag NOT more than 20 Kg. These aircrafts have larger stowing heads and you can adjust them easily.
3. Boeing 737 category aircrafts: It would be good that the size of hand bag is a bit smaller than the above category. So the weight also comes down to 15 Kgs.
4. ATRs & Turbo Props:5-8 Kgs and smaller size hand bags. Because you cannot stow more due to smaller bag holding area. ATRs fly on shorter distances, so naturally your luggage will also be less!
5. Single Engine Aircrafts (Like Cessna, Piper): Better off with a small purse.
Frankly, the cabin baggage should not be more than a smaller size bag with 10 Kgs at the max due to the following reasons:
1. You will be at ease. Remember: 'Eat Light-Travel Light'
2. In case of a crash the heavy loads on your heads will make things worst---Newtons Third Law---'To every action there is an equal & opposite reaction'.
3. Less aircraft fuel means economy of the country is stable. Should't we contribute in conserving fuel.
Happy Flying!

Some airlines say that there is a 35 pound weight limit for carry-on, but they never check carry-on for weight, only that they will fit into the overhead compartment or under the seat. Per person, you can carry-on on small suitcase, and a small personal item (i.e)...laptop, purse, backpack, etc...

You can only take two carry-on bags per person. Your notebook bag counts as a carry-on bag.

It's not about weight, it's about size for carryon.
For carry on, you can bring one bag that would fit under the seat in front of you, plus one other "personal" bag, i.e., purse or laptop.

There isn't a weight limit. There is a size limit. Check with the airline to see how big of an area.

On American Airlines their max load is 60 lbs and you are only allowed two items to check in and one carry on item. No they will not think of your note book as a carry on item unless it is in a huge case. for more information you can look at the3 airline s web site that you are planning to travel with.
