Remember egg creams? Perhaps everyone is not familiar with them, but I grew up in NYC. A very popular fountain drink, they seem to have originated there. When I graduated elementary school, our parents took my best friend and I to Woolworths, where we ate lunch at the fountain. There, I had my first egg cream. It was wonderful!

I work at Friendly's Restaurant's (East Coast) and we make Vanilla Coke's. We have vanilla syrup that we add to milkshakes, so we just add a squirt of the vanilla syrup to a coke. It's good stuff. I don't recommend Vanilla Root Beer's, though. Not very good.

Yes. Back in the old soda fountain days, that's how they made it. You could also get cherry and chocolate cokes with cherry extract or choc. syrup. They had real ice cream sodas and milkshakes so thick you had to eat them with a spoon.
