If you understand what you read you should be able to put it in your own words. Often when people quote the bible I insists they put it in their own words to prove they understand what they are talking about... Its quite similar to people who use very big words, it they say look it up in the dictionairy.... but often they don't know what it means. Bible quoters are exactly the same way. quoting is proves you can mimic, natural conversation proves you understand. It looks like they are incapable of an original thought.

because really if you think about it, the church makes them bend way over believing they have no spiritual success whatsoever and that only the highly child molesting priests have any personal spiritual knowledge so that to back up what they say so they dont look like the stupid sheep they are that cant possibly think for themselves they use words out of a mistranslated misused old antique book

While I don't use quotes, I may paraphase. I can't remember exact verses, but I do know what the Word says from studying. We are all different. Some have to quote scripture to reinforce their belief. Others let their "light" show by their actions and words.

If I felt that I had to prove something to you, I'd say ask me a question. But I don't so I won't. You sound bitter against Christians for whatever reason. I hope you find peace.

If you don't like me because I am Christian, I have this to say.

May God Bless you anyway

It may seem so to you.

To a believer in God..only God puts forth any original thoughts.. all we can do as mankind is to learn about what is already here and in place. To a believer in God.. the bible usually covers each and every base mankind can put forth to test himself or others. By claiming a bible quoter mimics ...one should usually look in the mirror and say to oneself. where did I learn to speak or to understand the language that I speak? .. Naturally, you as a baby mimic your parents. That is how we all learn..we pass information to one another using various methods. Many people choose to learn the bible as a specific guide to their lives. Many other might choose other things to mime. No matter. It just seems that your real annoyance is that you do not read the bible.. and you may not be sure of your own beliefs in too much yet.

So then, what is your real question? Is it about God?

I'm a Christian and I never use Bible quotes to answer the questions on here. The answers I give come out of my own head and heart. They may stand on Biblical morals, but they are all original and down-to earth. I hate preachy people. They always seem to be trying to convert everyone rather than showing by example like they are supposed to. But you're right. Most people don't understand the things they pull out of books, especially the Bible.

When I answer questions in my own words, few people recognize my answers as Christian. But I do it anyway. I think you're talking about people in general, who can't read for content, and really don't understand what they read. But I just reread your question, and I wonder, how many truly original thoughts have you had? I've had three, in my entire 51 years of life. Share these original thoughts, please...

Does it matter if they say that, "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) or simply say, "Hey, man God really loves you and wants you to live with Him in heaven forever." Would you believe them either way? How would it change your life at all if they put what the God of the universe said to you in His own words into their own words? Don't try to play nobody like you don't understand what they saying to you. Either you gone accept it or deny it whether it's King James Version or your boy from up the street.

I think it is a good question. I have asked it of other people who have different religions and get the same answers from what ever is their "source". I guess that every religion has a book, scroll, or a guru that for one reason or another is what they accept as "the truth" and forsake all other choices. It is interesting to me why people believe what they believe. I am still searching.

Why is it that people who don't like Christians ALWAYS criticize every aspect of their lives. If it upsets you so much, why do you pay attention to what they do?
By the way, unquoted, Jesus quoted the Word of God when he was being tempted in the desert by Satan. The actual words of God send the devil packing.

In my early days of Christianity someone asked me a question and I did not know how to answer it. I went to my religion teacher (a priest) to ask for an answer and was told which passages answered the question and was told to commit them to memory. I went to my parents to ask for clarification because I did not understand how the cited verses answered the question posed and I was slapped for "questioning God's grace." I was slapped a few more times before I figured out that I wasn't expected to understand or even believe it. I was simply supposed to say what they told me to say.

There is power in the Word of God. The Word of God is greater than my own ideas. The Word of God is living and active, even today and it can pierce the heart. I would be a fool to not use it. The Word of God will endure forever. The Word of God is true.

My words are not the words that others seek. Biblical authority and rightly interporting it is the right thing to do. Its like trying to hit the nail on the but you hit your fingers instead. I know you don't agree. So be it. You should be lookiung for truth and not opinions about the truth.
