A lot of people misunderstood my last question. I do not personally believe that animals are for us to eat and to exploit. I'm a vegetarian! I am asking this to those who DO believe that that's what animals are for.

Folks, I'm not here trying to argue for vegetarianism. I'm ONLY asking how is it sensible to say that God created animals only for US.

There's some you can eat and some you cannot eat. The clean meat you can eat; but not the unclean meat. The unclean animals are the scavengers that pick up the wastes of the earth. Like the Pig they eat slop. The lobster cleans the ocean floor. Make sure you check out these texts in the Bible. The unclean animals clean up the earth.

** TEXTS THAT INVOLVE THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS:
GEN.18:7-8; LEV.11; 20:25; DEUT.14; ISAIAH 66:17; EZEK.22:26; DAN.1:8; MATT.3:4; LUKE 24:41-43; MARK 1:16; ACTS 10:10-14; 1COR.3:16-17; 9:27; 2COR.6:17; AND REV.21:8.

It's kind of funny to read some of these answers. People forget Mad Cow disease, bird flu, not to mention the many diseases one can get from eating pork. I am a vegetarian also. I believe these creatures have as much right to life as we do. Just because we can not understand what they think or feel doesn't make it OK to take their lives. We don't need meat to survive. We don't need it for a healthy diet. People keep eating it because it is what their parents fed them and what the people around them do. Just imagine when those animals are herded into the killing shoots. They smell the death and the fear on each other. Their brains release all sorts of nasty chemicals that travel through their bodies. Let's think about all the steroids and hormones pumped into this meat. Lets think about how they are living in disgusting conditions often in their own feces. You are what you eat. If people want to eat this kind of stuff, they can. I just wish they would give it more thought. The meat didn't magically appear at the grocery store. Think about where it came from. Where it started life and the conditions it lived before it was slaughtered for your plate.

well god makes animals for us to eat that are edible.(like cows and chickens) if no ate those animals what would they do?just roam around the earth.and animals like cats and dogs we obviouly cant eat them.god has designed animals for different reasons.he made cows for us to eat.and if humans didnt need animals why is it that our main soucre of protein comes from meat and not veggies.

and have you ever heard of the food chain?we are not the only species that eat animals.a lion would chew a human up in a heart beat.so should we call lions evil too.

and if we werent meant to eat meat.why do we have such sharp teeth that cuts through meat.if we were just meant to eat veggies and grains our teeth would not have been made so sharp

dear simple way to put this is : If God has made animals for us to eat then definitely he has made some animals who can even eat us. Is that right? But putting so much developed brain in humans was God's mistake and that's why he has to pay making many humans who act as animals in some ways and believe that this world is for themselves only.

the sweet answer:
sure we can walk on two legs, and we can use our brain for some things. but when i see my cat sitting on a chair, for 8 long hours, without a care or worry in the world, completely relaxed...it makes me wonder who is the smarter species.

the grose answer:
sure we can walk on two legs, and we can use our brain for some things. but when i see a dog licking his own balls, it makes me wonder who is the smarter species.

I don't believe God made animals for us to eat at all. We have the opportunity to kill and exploit animals, and we do that. Because we can. Because we like meat. Because meat makes our tummy's happy.

Personally, i do eat meat. Not much, but i do eat it, because some sorts of meat i just can't refuse. But i do oppose to the meat-factories, the putting 7 chicken in a cage of 20cm by 20cm, the stuffing of 100 pigs in a too small barn, etc.

Animals do have rights, al lot of rights. One of those rights is to live a normal life, in nature, without humans interfeering in their privacy. We can care for them, but not exploid them.

And to be frankly honest, i wish i could bring myself to be a vegetarian too. Bcs it seems like the right thing to do.

As for God, i have no idea how to answer the question, because i don't believe in Him. I don't believe animals are here to make out lives better. Animals are here to make the world a better place.

Sorry the bible talks about eating animals and I find them delicious. Some vegetables aren't edible does that mean I should never eat a salad again?

He made those that are able to be eaten, for us to eat. Thats as simple as it gets. All the rest, we just have control over. We dont own them, but are valued by God more then animals are.

Some creatures eat animals we as humans cannot or as a matter of taste refuse to eat. You might not eat a lion but a vulture would be happy to pick his bones...

At first, we actually were only to eat "herbs". But after the flood, (Gen 9) God gave us certain animals as meat to eat.

God made vegetables that we can't eat. But it doesn't mean we shouldn't eat vegetables. Eating meat is a matter of personal conscience. It has nothing to do with God.
